The BT-16 Perimeter Droid is a large, spider-like droid manufactured by Arakyd Industries. It is equipped with a variety of sensor packages including a seismic reader and a motion detector. It is also armed with a repeating blaster cannon, a communication module, and a vocabulator capable of droid languages.

BT-16 Perimeter Droid has had a main photoreceptor replaced with a macrobinocular model, allowing it to visually zoom between 500-meters and 1-kilometer.

It has assumed the needs of its owner to be its prime directive, even such tasks that have not been requested of it.
