The Shoto Lightsaber is a lightsaber variant with a shorter plasma blade than normal lightsabers, emitted from a hilt and powered by crystals that determine the characteristics and color. It is useful as both an offensive and defensive weapon depending on the skill of the one wielding it. Capable of cutting through virtually anything including blast doors given enough time.
This lightsaber is equipped with an ionizing emitter matrix for use against droid units that may be capable of fighting through lost limbs or chassis pieces. The ionization funneled into the blade works to fry circuits in the periphery of a strike.
This lightsaber has been built with a reflex grip, allowing the wielder to quickly adjust to changes in combat and provide an edge when parrying or deflecting.
This lightsaber is of a shoto style with the hilt being black and silver in color. It has a short, black textured grip that contains a strip of silver metal accent diagonally across its length on either side. A silver shroud-style emitter is situated at the top of the hilt with a band of silver beneath it that contains the activation button. Opposite that shroud is a slightly smaller black one which has a silver prong mounted alongside it that protrudes from the end. The silver portions of the hilt have a rippled, wave-like pattern to them. When activated, it emits a crackling, pure white blade.
