The Purge Electrobaton is a one-handed blunt weapon composed of a sword-shaped shaft attached to a black metal handle with a switch, and has a power cell attached to the base. A deadly electromagnetic charge is run from the top of the handle up to the top of either side of the striking area, making the weapon capable of blocking a lightsaber. Some of these weapons were used by Imperial Purge Troopers during the Jedi Purge.
Electromagnetic Pulse Generator
The handle of this weapon is equipped with a generator that sends constant electromagnetic pulses to the weapon's striking surface during use. While active, the striking surface of [this item] can parry lightsaber blades; however, the rest of the weapon is vulnerable to a lightsaber's plasma blade.
Purge Electrobaton has had a powerful magnetic coupler installed at its midsection, allowing for this Purge Electrobaton to come in half either on its symmetrical axis or vertical axis. This provides an unpredictable functionality in combat but does create a weak point in an otherwise solid weapon that can be exploited if an enemy becomes aware of it.
The handle on this Purge Electrobaton has been fitted with an ion cell, allowing Purge Electrobaton to discharge ions along the striking area of the weapon and deal greater damage to droids or electrical components.
