The BD-unit "Survivor Edition" Backpack Droid is a modified version of the BD-unit Backpack Droid. It has been fitted with additional tools and resources such as a macrobinocular "BD Vision" mode that allows a person to look through their photoreceptors and highlight targets and destinations, a stim dispenser, SCOMP link, a thruster for hovering and quick bursts, a droid hacking matrix, and more powerful computer access and slicing link.
BD-0X possesses the unsettling personality of a predatory feline. It treats the hunt as a game, exhibiting a cruel streak that drives it to intentionally delay its strike and prolong a target's panic, using a modified, high-intensity plasma torch (originally a repair welder) to interrogate or execute. Highly independent, it has completely abandoned friendly binary communication. Instead, its damaged audio-modulator cycles through an array of feral noises. Emitting glitchy hisses while stalking, low mechanical growls when agitated, and settling into a rhythmic, vibrating purr once it successfully corners its quarry. Despite this untamed autonomy, it maintains an unshakable and singular loyalty. It treats its master as the absolute alpha, offering a submissive, stalker-like devotion afforded to no one else. Ultimately "The Stray" views organic life not as a standard objective, but as prey to be stalked, played with, and methodically dismantled. All for the sole purpose of pleasing its master.
BD-0X "Oh-Ex" has had every external component painted black as night, with attempts to minimize the brightness of external lights and features. This allows this BD-unit "Survivor Edition" Backpack Droid to more easily blend into the shadows and darkness unseen.
