Having Marick on Arcona’s summit is one of the key reasons why it has been so impressive since becoming a Clan again, and even before that. Quite a bold opening statement I know, but fortunately we have the evidence to back this claim up, and by the end of this recommendation I’m sure Marick will be blushing (maybe).

Marick’s leadership escapades began when he was given charge of Oblivion Brigade in Qel-Droma at the beginning of 2010, and he took this this position like a duck to water, working tirelessly to build the team up both in terms of activity and confidence, eventually bringing the squad to a level which most people can only hope of, being a bastion of skilled members who, most importantly, enjoyed working together. Marick was already proving himself as a brilliant leader who brought the best out of his subordinates and he was the logical choice to lead House Qel-Droma after Arcona’s successful re-Clanning, and it was as the leader of HQD that Marick really kicked into his top gear. He worked extremely hard to reinvigorate Arcona’s historic ‘second’ House and gave it a completely new identity, moulding it into his image and breathing life into it at the perfect time. Since then he has proven his leadership acumen time and time again, working day and night to provide the help, support and opportunities that his members need to progress and, most importantly, enjoy their time in the DB.

And then we got to the War. GJWX was always going to take hard work and dedication, and it was members like Marick who led the line magnificently, dedicating hours to entering the various events on offer (20 events entered total) while also submitting entries of the highest quality (resulting in 4 Silver Novae and a Bronze) and helping to encourage the members and offer help as and when it was.

This is a snippet of Marick’s activity and dedication and, while it doesn’t do the man full justice, I hope it will go some way to doing that. Wally, you are a star and you have been a fantastic member of Arcona’s summit. The Clan is extremely lucky to have you, and I look forward to watching you progress as a leader and as a member.

I would like to recommend Wally for a Grand Cross, as a thank you for all his support and work on the creatures implementation into the Dark Jedi Brotherhood possessions system. One of the large reasons why creatures were not part of possessions at launch was because of just how integrated they were with the fictional side of things. A topic which I was familiar enough with to discuss but really needed someone to weather the storm of discussion and really make systemic changes as risky as they might be to see it happen. Wally stepped up in every case to ask the right questions and ponder options and decide how to proceed. His changes to the Character Sheet system are invaluable in creatures being a success, and his input into the possessions side of things so they match up is seen in the final execution of things. Not to mention he wrote a dozen and a half pre-written Aspects. Congratulations, there is no way creatures would have seen the light of day in its current design without your support.
