Physical Description

Appearance

Atra's towering form typically stands a head above most of his peers. His shoulders are broad with a barrel chest that drops to a slender waist. His body is conditioned and fit, showing the signs of his physical training while his skin is so pale that it appears to glow when reflecting moonlight. His entire back and right arm are covered in burn scars that creep over his shoulder onto his chest, highlighting the battle scars that mar the rest of his flesh. Notably, a vicious scar passes across his torso from his left shoulder towards his right hip, accompanied by the faded remnants of a slash through his right side. His black hair is kept messy and short, with noticeably side-swept bangs, while he has thinly trimmed facial hair in the form of a goatee. He possesses sharp cheekbones while the rest of his face has a soft almost sad quality to it. When he speaks, he does so with a subtle but noticeable lilting accent.

He carries himself casually, with a grace that stands at odds to the visible muscle structure of his body. His piercing, grey eyes possess golden flakes around the pupil, forming a star burst pattern. The paleness of his features, framed by his dark hair, offer a stark contrast to the dark and light tones of his attire.

Attire

Atra's attire changes to better fit the environment around him, however there are identifiable patterns in his clothing. His outfits are generally neutral with a muted, primarily black, color scheme that includes grey secondary accents. As well, they often favor comfort and function over aesthetics, though usually asymmetrical in terms of design.

In his personal time, he wears far more casual attire that reveals his right arm through asymmetric sleeves. His right forearm is covered by a white cloth wrap, leaving the burns of his arm exposed while he wears a black single-sleeved shirt that is tight to his body and covers his left arm. He wears a grey tunic over top of his shirt that sits comfortably upon his frame, while a sash keeps the tunic in place. Below this, he wears black gi-like pants tucked into sleek, black boots with a good tread.

When acting as an Inquisitor, Atra augments his attire with a gun-metal grey armor bracer upon his left forearm. In addition to this, he wears a breastplate that connects to a belt and tabbard around his waist. A segmented, black cloak falls around his form in strips originating from his breastplate and pauldrons. The pauldrons sit comfortably upon his shoulders, connecting to his breastplate with blade-like alloy segments. The remainder of his armor is a dark grey, culminating in a hood that can hang heavy over his face, casting a dark shadow to hide his features.

Lost in the Echo (General Aspect)

Things have a way of not going according to plan. So it has been that Atra never got to simply be the kind farm boy from Corellia. Life got in the way. At his core, this version of him remains. It is kept buried there, constantly at odds with the monster he created as 'necessary'; the face that others see. Only those who are closest to him have seen that true iteration.

His mask, however, has been in place so long that cracks have formed. His personalities have begun to bleed into one another and even Atra is beginning to lose sight of what he considers 'himself'. His persona can shift wildly between the extremes of his joking — even smiling — demeanor, and the cold, unflinching Inquisitor. The line between monster and man has faded, though it may never have been there at all.

Law Of Hypocrisy (General Aspect)

In order to preserve peace, order must be maintained. It is with this in mind that Atra observes the galaxy. While he does not stand for abuse within the system by those who represent it, he stands for the adherence of the laws and structure of society as a whole. Any disruption against the system is tantamount to declaring war against society — attacking the very notion of peace. Such seeds of chaos, in his mind, must be cleansed so that order may remain. When given the option, he will put his full force to bear against both those who oppose order, and those who abuse its facets.

As a result of this self-perceived notion, Atra has difficulty ceding to any authority, and will function autonomously regardless of affiliations. This hypocritical stance, placing himself outside the laws he upholds, casts him as a rogue... even when within a clan.

Darkness In Light (Personality Aspect)

Atra appears to be in a constant zen-like state, coming across as almost a stereotypical light side user through the use of Concealment and Quey'tek Meditation, at least until he chooses to show his true face. Like the opening of a dam, he can release his hold on his inner darkness and tap into the fears of those around him, while maintaining his calm nature.

Despite this, he maintains his serene state while seeming completely at peace with the darkness he has chosen to reside in. As such, he fights to avoid the rule of rage spurned by the taint of the dark side. Maintaining such a demeanor is quite delicate, requiring constant focus and control that can result in a jarring and furious shift if that control is lost.

A Healthy Dose of Sarcasm (Personality Aspect)

Despite his penchant for a reserved persona, Atra Ventus possesses a dry wit that is put into play through the skillful application of sarcasm. He isn't one for monologues, tending to say what he means in as few words as possible. Still, he often spares a few more than he would otherwise for the deadpan delivery of a sarcastic remark. These comments can often be quick or unexpected, falling on his Perception and Intelligence to tailor towards the people he's around.

As well, this aspect of his personality betrays a complete confidence in his abilities. Even in the most critical of moments, he will manage to ply his wit as if it were just another weapon in his arsenal. Even knowing his humor can rub others the wrong way, he can't keep from smirking when particularly pleased with a line.

Ignite To Kill, Not To Twirl (Combat Aspect)

Atra knows that when it comes time to fight, winning is the only thing that matters. To this effect, Atra has no desire to waste energy at all. Relying on Djem So, he will eschew all trappings of flair and showmanship in favor of practicality. He will move in a straight line, never attacking unless it is to take advantage of an opening, or create one.

Additionally, he will simply move the absolute minimum amount to avoid harm when on the defensive, using his saber to counter only when necessary. While boring to an observer and relying entirely on the limits of his patience and control, it is highly effective against single targets while allowing him to conserve his stamina to overpower his opponent.

All In Due Time (Combat Aspect)

For Atra, there is never a need to hasten towards conflict. It comes to all equally, and in due time. As such, he will never charge his opponent, opting to take a slow and methodical approach akin to the slow march of death. He will observe his opponent, perceiving their actions and adapting his approach to theirs.

Rarely, if ever, will he make the first move, preferring to counter anyone zealous enough to throw the first punch. This approach is ideal for singular encounters, but can prove cumbersome against multiple opponents.
