Since his last merit award in March, Mar Sul has continued to support our Clan through his leadership as a Battleteam Leader and Aedile in House Satele Shan. He is very often communicating with his members, in email and through a daily IRC presence as well as telegram. He is friendly and approachable, not only dealing with member issues as people approach him but also proactively approaching others, solving smaller problems before they turn into drama.

He has written all of House Satele Shan's house fiction for both Solari's reports and his own. He was the driving force behind Shan's current story arc, "Compass of Reason: Conflict of Interest", as well as the events included. He has also conceptualized The Compass of Reason, Chapter 1, lead in April by Ji and Solari. While he and Solari both worked on these events, Solari has informed me that his involvement was minimal, only amounting to directive suggestions.

Mar Sul has also organized the Distress Signal set of 3 competitions, providing House Satele Shan and the Disciples of Baas with an opportunity to assist a caravan in danger.

Mar’s own reports have been timely, informative and have tried to encourage character development opportunities for the Disciples by attempting to organize character wiki sessions, and encouraging the House with their achievements.

As a member, he remains highly active, participating in 24 competitions, including 8 from the Clan Arcona Feud, and several of House Satele Shan’s earliest competitions. He has won himself 107 Clusters of Earth, 4 Clusters of Ice, 2 Clusters of Fire, and a strong mix of Crescents (2 Diamond, 1 Ruby, 2 Sapphire, 4 Emerald and 1 Topaz). He has also mentored Droveth to the rank of Jedi Knight.

For all these efforts, both as a leader and a member of our Clan, I wish to award him with a Steel Cross. Congratulations, Mar, I look forward to seeing what you can provide your House with as its new Quaestor!

While Cable and I formed the House Summit of Satele Shan, he was the driving force behind the Houses fictional direction. At least once a day when we happened to both be on IRC at the same time he’d hit me up with a new idea, such as where the public assembly area of the city would be, whether we should drop some easter eggs for our future villain in the next fiction. He was the author of all House fiction while I was Questor, having written all of the fiction included in both of our reports. It was Cable who decided how the Jedi of the House would integrate into the citizenry of Seher. How the locals feel about them. While we were a team he was hard at work planning a new Compass of Reason competition event, but we never got to run it under my tenure due to the cluster of clan/feud events during that time. We has very attentive to new members, often greeting them via email and directing them to irc within minutes of their joining the house. These greetings were ‘no-BS’, ‘you’ve had a lot of auto emails with a lot of links, and this isn’t one of them’ messages which seemed to get real results, especially when we’d often see new members pop up in chat shortly after.

Cable. Or… Mar, you were a great partner and truly the oil that kept the cogs turning.
