Physical Description

Appearance

Tamashi looks exactly like a stereotypical scholar and academic, despite his past association with the Guardians of the Whills. Large spectacles adorn his nose, he can always be seen to be buried in some sort of manuscript and the scholar always seems to be deep in thought, it's as if Tamashi isn't always connected to the real world.

Formerly a warrior, Tamashi still retains hints of his previously strong body, but it has now withered into a frail shell of its former strength. A tall and gaunt humanoid, Tamashi’s ashen grey skin is lined with pinstriped furrows down his entire body. Sinewy muscle cover his spindly arms and his hands end in deadly sharp claws.

The Pau'an's bald head is rather bony in appearance, with a prominent brow and chin, thin lips and deep orbits. The pupils of his eyes are chillingly obsidian - resting within sunken crimson sockets - and fang-like, razor sharp jagged teeth provide a contrast to his otherwise harmless appearance. His ears are always covered by protective metal ear disks, like all his species, in order to function normally in regular galactic society.

Tamashi is always well-groomed and neatly dressed, unless extraordinary circumstances dictate otherwise. Habitually sporting a black bespoke three-piece suit of the most expensive material, his clothing seem to fit like a second skin, melding seamlessly with his every movement.

Noticeable Marks:

Tamashi uses an advanced hoverchair (image) to move around and function in his day-to-day life. While the chair itself has hover capabilities, the Pau'an prefers to use it in it's more primitive form as a regular wheelchair.

Many Of The Truths That We Cling To Depend On Our Point Of View (General Aspect)

A devout follower of the Church of the Force and pilgrim of Jedha, Tamashi’s spiritual beliefs are reminiscent of the old Jedi Order. Believing that the Jedi will return to bring balance to the Force, his discovery of Clan Odan-Urr has widened his faith and given him a fervent desire to see balance restored through the actions of his new allies.

Tamashi is more committed to a particular code of abstract ethics than he is to his own self-preservation. He believes in a predefined set of rules which universally apply, and he will not break said rules, even if his own death results from adhering to them.

Believing fully that he is on the side of righteousness and drawing strength from that, Tamashi holds high expectations for his fellows that are often unrealistic. Above all else, his cohorts often remark on his holier-than-thou attitude and tendency to preach his beliefs.

Luminous Beings Are We, Not This Crude Matter (General Aspect)

Once a warrior, Tamashi embodied the epitome of physicality and martial puissance. However due to his infirmity — central nervous system degeneration resulting in Multiple Sclerosis — Tamashi is physically dysfunctional without assistance from the Force. To circumvent this disability in carrying out day-to-day tasks, he utilizes a hoverchair to move about.

With his body's betrayal, Tamashi turned to his last remaining asset - elevating his mind. Delving deep into both spirituality and academia, he spent years sitting with gurus and sacred women, visiting mountaintops to see Holy men - as well as immersing himself in one of the galaxy's foremost universities.

A learned scholar, Tamashi’s immense knowledge lends to an eidetic memory, fluency in several languages and a wide collection of P.HD’s from the University of Bar'leth. Unfortunately while his mind is able to bear the weight of his endeavors, his failing health limits his overall potential.

A Jedi Must Have the Deepest Commitment, the Most Serious Mind (Personality Aspect)

Tamashi’s world needs to be predictable. It needs to be ordered and planned, so he instinctively imposes structure on his world. He sets up routines. He focuses on timelines and deadlines, breaking long-term projects into a series of specific short-term plans, and working through each plan diligently.

While not necessarily neat and clean, Tamashi does need precision. Faced with the inherent messiness of life, like a book out of place or a hologram slightly askew, he needs to feel in control. Tamashi’s dislike of surprises, impatience with errors, his routine, and his detailed orientation; as well as the timelines and the structure - all of these help create this feeling of control.

Lacking this discipline, others may sometimes resent his need for order, and Tamashi finds it hard to understand that not everyone feels his need for predictability; they have other ways of getting things done.

Gentleman At Heart (Personality Aspect)

Despite his line of work, Tamashi Adaephon Delat still sees himself as a refined gentleman and will often put on a show of being haughty and arrogant to those he does not know. Tamashi Adaephon Delat only lets the mask slip to show his more laid back nature to those he trusts. To those he dislikes, he will actually become even more insufferable as taunts and quips without any regard for who or what he might be offending.

Keeping My Distance (Combat Aspect)

Tamashi Adaephon Delat vastly prefers ranged combat, taking every opportunity to use skills and Force Powers to disengage from melee and instead fight at range, so much so that he has become competent at staying out of melee in the first place.

A Jedi uses The Force for Knowledge and Defense, never for Attack. (Combat Aspect)

Tamashi always tries to solve his problems with words first, and fists a distant second, resorting to violence only as a last resort and refusing to kill unless he has no other choice. Exercising self-control over body and mind is often an integral part of any Jedi's training, and this includes keeping emotions in check and falling back on their prodigious martial training only as the very last resort while avoiding unnecessary deaths.

As killing goes against everything that the Padawan stands for - defending others who are in need of protection - Tamashi's deep connection to the Force - the way it heightens his awareness of his surroundings - in addition to his species' high perception aid him to keep one step ahead of his opponents, to read into their attacks, patterns, and use key positioning to dodge and evade their movements.
