Primary reason

It is an honor and pleasure to be able to recognize Wagglehorn with a Steel Cross for the considerable efforts he has made on behalf of Scholae Palatinae & Imperium for the Great Jedi War and these past few months. I’ve been blessed with an incredible summit team to work with on Imperium and I credit first acknowledging this when working with Wagglehorn on Shadow Guard as we turned it into Krennic and then passed on the reigns to him as I took Quaestor. Since then I’ve had absolute trust in his direction and leadership for the team and I’ve proud to say he has continued to exceed expectations.

Completing a total of 19 competition activities (including 7 GJW entries) since his last recognition, Wagglehorn has also completed 11 PVP matches, 19 PVE activities, 2164 words of fiction, 2 runon posts, 1 Shadow Academy course passed, and gaining 2 crescents, 89 Cluster of Fire, 6 Cluster of Ice, 11 Cluster of Earth, and 4 Cluster of Graphite. Yet, the main meat of this recommendation comes from his service as Battleteam Leader.

Just before the war, Imperium was extremely unstable. Every position in the house saw change, and this included myself rising quickly from BTL through Aedile to Quaestor. This would normally have create a great deal of turmoil for a unit, however I was fortunate enough to have Wagglehorn already working with me on the creation of Krennic - acting as an unofficial Battleteam Sergaent of sorts until I tapped him in for Battleteam Leader.

For most new BTLs, they come into an already established unit and just take over the maintenance. Instead, for Wagglehorn, from Day One he was forced to deal with creating a new team out of nothing but the above-mentioned turmoil. Given a position, and an outline of what my plan had been for a new Battleteam, Wagglehorn had to dive in to creating this new team as the new project leader. No members, no lore, no identity, no unifying factors at all. Instead, he was given a position and told to make a team to surround it. Build a community to be worthy of this post. This was done through stages, first building relationships with members free floating in Imperium and Scholae Palatinae. His focus was first just on building friendships with others and familiarizing himself with them. Wagglehorn did this through a combination of individual email, Telegram private messaging, and engagement with our members in the clan channel. And from here, was the second stage; Building Relationships between members - where - after he had contacted everyone mentioned above, he started using the information he had to try to forge connections with people in the house. Make soft introductions, share others interests with someone who would benefit so they can connect. Basically, we asked him to be a matchmaker and this evolved (in coordination with Calindra) into a discussion channel on Telegram that both Calindra and Waggle facilitated. Something that would become the Battleteam Discussion channel, and later turned into the current House Imperium channel. This was push through daily discussion topics on what people like about star wars, what their characters are like, etc. Through the combined efforts of Calindra and Wagglehorn we were getting hour-long public discussions almost every other day on these channels and that lead to finding out what roles people like to playand guiding the discussion from just want people liked about star wars - to what they wanted to play here in the club. They facilitated conversations about what eventually 2 new Battleteams would become and create unique identities for these teams. One stealth orientated and one militarily orientated. From here, we asked them to fill out these teams with the following: Battleteam Name, Motto, Theme, Patron/Canon Example, How do the teams fit into Imperium, What role do members have, and any other descriptive information. And finally, once Wagglehorn & Calindra had the pieces. They put it together into a competition event to test out what they had developed. This was a House Level event that was created through their research, ideas, and promoting that we used to carve out the formation of these teams.

To clarify, in the past 3 months we have had Wagglehorn be an active contributor to both Imperium’s and its Battleteam’s community development. In that time, he has been helpful in strategizing our initial focus on the Battleteam Creation Project and turning these two units into member-driven communities. This has been done in part from reaching out to other members in our clan, house, and BT development chats on telegram, surveying them, and participating in the lengthy hour long conversations on the initial planning of these units to figure out what kind of interests and concepts the members wanted to see in the Battleteams. Addiitionally, he has promoted these BT concepts and plans with other active CSP and rogued Palpatines in an effort to recruit them. Finally, he has also served as the voice on the summit for Krennic’s members and ensuring that we continue to serve the desires of this community along with the other communities under the Scholae Palatinae umbrella.

So thank you, Wagglehorn. We could not manage without your continued contributions, dedication, and overall presence. Keep up great effort, and know that daily I am thankful for your assistance and leadership. I cannot wait to see where and what we shape Imperium into, together.

Additional reasons

Wagglehorn is new to the Scholae Palatinae leadership team but I’m very happy to have him on board. He has adapted fantastically to his new role, and has done a great job of encouraging team building and communication within the team. He’s proving himself to be proficient with handling discussions on lore and team cohesion, helping the battleteam to slot seamlessly in with Imperium’s identity as a military team. Since his last recognition he’s entered 21 competitions, earning 89 clusters of fire, while also earning clusters of ice, graphite and earth. Congratulations Wagglehorn!

Sparky has recently been able to show his colors as a leader and he’s doing damn well. Our history is nothing short of extensive. He was in Imperium when I returned back in mid-2015. Since then, we’ve been in BTs together, competed in competitions with each other, won together and lost together. He was in BT Shadow Guard with me, and in Crucesignatis Imperialis when I became BTL. He was with me as Aedile once while he a member, and second time in his position as a BTL. He’s stuck through and knows the members well. It shows in his work, where he can interact with members on a level that others cannot because they don’t know them as well. He’s able to convince other members to participate or to stay on the BT when they may feel the need to leave or “not take up space”. Sparky makes members feel valued.

With what we’ve tried to accomplish in our BTs, Wagglehorn has accomplished with flying colors. He’s given them things to do and really created a community centered around his BT. And he’s not done yet. So here’s to you, Sparky/Wagglehorn! Congrats on your first Steel Cross!
