Tall and imposing, like most of his kind, Grot towers over other sapients. His scales are dark brown and mottled with green, covered with numerous ugly scars. Most are displayed prominently, even pierced and decorated with tally markers and small totems. His lips curl backwards into a sneer, revealing rows of grizzly sharpened teeth and highlighting the savage bone piercing running through his septum. His bright orange eyes shine with a steely gaze.
Grot always seems to underestimate the gravity of important situations or the difficulty of tasks by about a mile or ten.Grot is a bit of a slacker, never really thinking things all the way through - and it usually comes back to bite him in a wildly comedic way. However, he also tends to not be deterred from things that would often scare others away.
Grot doesn't like to work in groups or teams and feels most comfortable on his own. Grot sticks to himself, sets his own pace, and doesn't share feelings or emotions with others. While the Lone Wolf can get things done quietly and efficiently, he tends to be emotionally cut off and has problems relating to his comrades.
Killing has never been a problem for Grot; and he kind of enjoys it now, if he is honest. Killing's what Grot does, and he likes what he does.
Grot is not afraid to exploit any advantage or position of power he has when dealing with others, and relies on a combination of fear, intimidation, manipulation and shows of strength to convince others to compromise and lose. Grot can be quite callous in his dealings with others, and never gives up his power. This has earned Grot with the reputation of a “bully” and can often make negotiations difficult before they even begin.
Sometimes the only way to prepare for the worst is to always expect it. Grot takes this philosophy one step further by never leaving home without accounting for every possible scenario he might expect to encounter. Grot tends to always have the right tool or item for a situation and has a habit of quietly and almost smugly presenting solutions before anyone even recognizes there is a problem. This foresight is far from infallible, however, and he often finds himself at a loss in situations that go beyond what he could have imagined. While incredibly practical and often a life-saver in a pinch, his perpetually pessimistic outlook on daily life can be a bit draining on more optimistic-inclined companions.
Grot possesses a single minded drive for victory, and a deep-seated martyr complex. When presented with a chance to wade into battle versus overwhelming odds, Grot does not hesitate, and instead rushes in, relying on skill, fate or chance to let him survive.
