Dante served admirably during his extended eight-month term as Left Hand of Justice. Quick to assist his fellow members, he was a vital asset to the Chamber of Justice, and we thank him for his service.

To Whom It May Concern:

There are few people in this organization who match the dedication and skill that Angelo Dante does. Over the years that I have known him, I’ve found Dante to be one of the most devoted and selfless members that this club has to offer. When it comes to times of war, leaders often present themselves in a different fashion than those who hold titles. These inspirational people lead by action, not words or fancy positions. Dante is one such person.

After years of undying service, Dante has once again proven himself as an invaluable member of this Clan. In the Rite of Supremacy, Dante competed in EVERY event. Though his skill set is widely thought to be Gaming, Dante extends himself beyond all boundaries to prove himself to be one of if not the most, loyal people that Clan Scholae Palatinae has ever seen.

Beyond his warrior attitude, Angelo Dante continues to show his ability to inspire, assist, and contribute by any means he can to the advancement and stability of this Clan as an Organization. He is a loyal confidant, contributing in the discussion and aim of the Clan Summit. As a trusted and revered member of the leadership of Clan Scholae Palatine (without holding any such title), he has contributed in more ways than can be described with words.

First and foremost, Angelo Dante should be acknowledged for his loyalty, his fidelity, and his ability to make everyone around him try just a little bit harder, accomplish just a little bit more, and strive for so much more in the future.

As a former PCON of Clan Scholae Palatinae, Dante has proven himself to maintain the responsibilities of a Clan leader without physically occupying the position. Leading our gaming Charge in the RoS, Leading a rally of our troops after a rather morale crushing defeat in week 1 of the RoS, and for raising the bar for what is expected of the veterans of this clan is reason enough to reward him.

For his continued and undying service, I would like to submit that Angelo Dante be awarded a Steel Cross. Great Job, my old friend, you inspire me to be better than I am. Thank you for everything you do, on the forefront and behind the scenes.

-Thran Occasus, Consul, Clan Scholae Palatinae

As the Codex indicates, the Steel Cross is awarded to an individual for their extended service to one’s House or Clan. Such duties include aiding one’s Quaestor or Aedile, as well as being a mentor to others.

Angelo Dante returned to HDS after his retirement from Proconsul to support the place he helped to grow. He has stated on many occasions that he wouldn't be anywhere else. His participation in the most recent Rise of Supremacy supports this. He had competed in absolutely all events, both in the on weeks and off weeks of the five week competition. He helped his Clan and continuing to better himself. During the second week of the RoS, he placed as top gamer of all the Clans, earning about 113 Clusters of Fire.

As a senior member, Dante is not required to compete in some of the lower level competitions made specifically for Journeymen. Unlike for them, it doesn’t really enhance his dossier, but he competes in them all the same, allowing the reward benefits to be greater for the journeymen of his House.

As Quaestor of Dorimad Sol I would like to recommend Angelo Dante a Steel Cross for all the great work he has done for the House. Some of his positive actions go unoticed by the majority of members, but his efforts don't go missed by me.

Dante was the origin for the CSP Spring games. His idea went off to Thran and Ood to become a great and fun “House Feud” for the Clan. He lead through example and participated in 7 events. These include submissions to “Potty Humor”, “Insult to Injury”, “Family Crest”, “Belly Flop”, “Study, Study, Study”. As well as a 2nd place submission to “Track Star”, and a 1st place multiway tie in “Santa Toss”.

Dante has finished another exemplary term as a Hand of Justice for the Chamber. One of the Chamber's most reliable members, Dante brought wide-ranging experience and a good head to the Chamber, and put both to good use during his term. Dante knew when to step forward and even when to recuse himself - something which can be very difficult. Thank you again for your service Dante, the Chamber greatly appreciates it.

Throughout the Horizons vendetta, Dante participated in 16 events and earned a score of 69 tying him for third highest score in the house. He also was one of the few HSPers that attempted the ACC event. Within his runon group, he helped them place 3rd. On top of all of his own efforts within the vendetta, he also gave feedback and support to others which was greatly appreciated. For his efforts he has more than earned this Steel Cross. Primary reason

Since January, Dante has been a valued member of Clan Scholae Palatinae. He's been highly supportive of our desire to improve the Clan, and he's offered his help on many occasions when we've needed it over the past couple of months.

Besides his helpful manner, Dante has been supremely active. In a time when CSP is experiencing difficulty keeping members active, Dante has done so much. Since his last merit medal, he has participated in 29 competitions and completed 3644 words of fiction. He got 10 Clusters of Graphite, 12 Clusters of Fire, and 19 Clusters of Fire, plus 1 Emerald Crescent, 2 Sapphire Crescents, and 2 Amethyst Crescents. He obtained 11 Seals of Fury as well. During this GJW, he completed every single bin, the only one in the Clan to do so, and obtained 12 Seals of Vision.

It's difficult to award Elders in such regard, but considering Dante's almost constant advisory role within the Clan and his recent hardcore and consistent activity, I can't think of another award that would be as fitting as this one. Thanks, Dante! And congrats!

Additional reasons

Since his return to CSP, Dante has been proactive in addressing and discussing both issues and solutions for the growth/development of CSP and has been very active in participation for competitions. He was especially active in the GJW, completing all bins to be precise. He participated also in some of our Scholae Rising event comps, receiving 3rd place overall. As pointed out by Dek, Dante has received numerous crescents and clusters since his last merit award. His devotion to and constant activity in the clan has been well noted as has his advice and suggestions when he and I have discussed ways to improve CSP.

To be more specific regarding his assistance, CSP put together a small task force of leadership to fully vet and study our current possessions holistically and streamline for fictional purposes, continuity, and theme.

While this seems trivial, the sheer volume of data crunching, clicking, and analysis is an exhaustive process that is an intuitive process with many steps in the process. Overhauling 700+ million in credits against roughly 1000 possession possibilities, sub-units, and nesting assets is a true labor of love that can either be slap dash or finely tuned. Point blank - its a thankless and painful job that is a true undertaking.

Having a seasoned veteran and long-standing voice of reason such as Dante who has been in the Clan off and on for ages truly is a "guiding light" and a sanity check. Having Dante provide THE final word and peer review proved integral to the process. Any leader in the DJB is likely aware there is nothing as divisive as Clan possessions where everyone has their own idea and agenda. Case in point - the possessions rolled out had some questions to be sure, but the current composition had an OVERWHELMING level of support and excitement by the senior members of the Clan, the Palpatines, and the rank and file. This is no mean feat.

Beyond this, CSP plans to fully utilize the possession system to drive activity, fictional development, and is a CORNERSTONE on the Clan's plan to ensure long term viability, growth, and recovery from its current precarious position. Without the assistance of Dante on this, we would have likely failed in part of this initiative.

It has been so great to have him back again, and it's been even more amazing to see him being both passionately and crushingly active. A big congratulations to you, Dante! You more than deserve this Steel Cross. Thank you for all you do!
