Physical Description
Appearance

Xen’Mordin Palpatine is a man with a very carefully maintained appearance. His attractive features and winsome smile allow him to fit in a Human-dominated galaxy with ease. However, this by no means makes him “average”. His expressive, emerald green eyes are animated and attentive, carrying a depth of wisdom that comes from years of experience. His thick dark brown hair is kept short, usually just long enough to style. This is done typically as brushed forward and slightly spiked at the front, giving him the appearance of being stylish and young. He also maintains a full and well-managed goatee, which helps bring focus to his pearly white smile.

Xen’Mordin is tall and broad shouldered, making him a noticeable presence in any environment. His body is kept lean and toned. Coupled with his years of living in the public eye, Xen’Mordin never slouches, always ensuring that is presentation is pristine and his posture asture, an avatar of regality.

Notable Marks

Xen’Mordin has several notable marks. His torso bears many faded scars from being attacked on the planet of Kashyyyk while a boy, while his right leg still shows the scars of the beast’s jaw that had been clamped around it. His back bears the remnant scars of an encounter with a wild Nexu’s claws.

Attire

Xen'Mordin favors clean-cut outfits of neutral colors, typically blacks and dark grays but occasionally white, accented with some trim of color, usually purple. His wardrobe is carefully curated, keeping up with the latest fashion trends, while maintaining the professional and high-class reputation that is expected of him. On most occasions, he wears some form of a knee length jacket with a stiff collar, in which he is able to hide both a lightsaber and personal comm device. His clothing is always designed to function as serviceable for both Imperial and Brotherhood duties. He nearly always wears sturdy boots, though they are often dressed up for appearance's sake.

Someone Else Might Have Gotten It Wrong (General Aspect)

For most of his life, Xen’Mordin has dedicated himself to the Empire. When all else fails, Xen believes in his home, clan, and Empire. However, it is not enough to just see the Empire flourish. Xen’Mordin is an egotist who after years planning to take the throne, and even longer sitting on it, believes he is the one who holds the whole thing together, sometimes alienating those who could also be of help.

The hardest lessons Xen’Mordin has experienced, are his own failures and mistakes. They have slowly worked to humble him, but have also provided invaluable experience. This has fed his conviction he must be the one to sit on the throne, having both the intellect and practical experience needed. Even with his ego periodically checked by his mistakes, Xen’Mordin still believes he is the best man for the job, after all, someone else might get it wrong.

In Brightest Day, In Blackest Night (General Aspect)

Xen’Mordin has walked both as a Jedi and as a Sith. Both have brought Xen’Mordin great pain and loss. Forging his own path, Xen’Mordin no longer believes in the concept of the Light and the Dark. He believes in the Living Force, a power from which he finds peace and serenity, as well as passion and strength.

With the Force as a constant ally in all aspects, Xen’Mordin feels truly free to love and hate, protect and attack without losing part of who he really is. This has removed the tenets that formed the foundation of his actions, meaning he now has to make it up as he goes along, which also makes him less predictable in his actions. Choosing this path has also alienated him from some, who see him as too weak to redeem himself in the light, or too foolish to embrace the darkness.

The Night Is Dark And Full Of Terrors (Personality Aspect)

Xen’Mordin has worn many faces and names throughout his life, playing many different roles. He is no stranger to pain, and the death that comes with relearning who you are. He knows all too well that someday it will be a death he can’t walk away from. He has come to learn to cherish the little things, and to weigh the implications of his actions carefully. His eyes show the weight he already carries from his past mistakes. Some might say he broods, others that he is deep and cautious. However, for Xen, he knows the night is dark and full of terrors. There are some demons you can’t outrun and he will do whatever he can to keep these nightmares from affecting him and those he cares about.

The Wordsmith (Personality Aspect)

A word in the right ear can start a war, and a single sentence can quiet a riot. Xen’Mordin has spent years honing his Leadership, Manipulation, and Intellect to a razor sharp degree. Xen weaves lies and truths into a tapestry of motivation, command, and will. Where some people are masters of playing their instrument of choice, Xen’Mordin has dedicated himself to being the one conducting the orchestra. His closest allies never know if he is using them to complete some hidden objective or not, or maybe moving them to come to a conclusion themselves that he wanted all along. For his enemies, his attempts to play and use them as he wants only further complicates the tension and animosity between them.

The Force Shall Set Me Free (Combat Aspect)

Xen’Mordin is no stranger to both defensive and offensive combat. The battlefield has been a common setting, be it behind a wall of soldiers or a one on one duel. When he was younger he used to relish the combat, the chaos, and destruction, but now he is a weathered veteran. His goal is victory, not carnage or heroics. To this end, he uses whatever tools are available to him, be it lightsaber or blaster. However, the biggest tool is his connection to the Force. Utilizing it to amplify his own body, electrocute his enemies, slow opponent’s movements, and even telekinetically move objects and weapons. The Force is Xen’s primary weapon of choice in all situations well before he decides to pull out his lightsaber or blaster. While it serves him well, it does put him at a disadvantage to those who steamroll into combat.

Do What Must Be Done (Combat Aspect)

Xen’Mordin once was driven solely by the Dark side of the Force, fueling himself by sowing death, destruction, and pain on the battlefield, but no more. He has abandoned the belief that the only way for him to gain power is through hatred and bringing suffering to others. Xen’Mordin has grown into a do what must be done attitude when dealing with an enemy combatant. He will never hesitate to kill an enemy who is too dangerous to be kept alive, nor hesitate to stay his hand when a threat has been neutralized. The strong survive and to protect himself, his clan, his family, and the Empire, Xen has no qualms about either butchering a village or bringing supplies and food to its people. Yield or die, it’s all the same to Xen unless you try to fool him, which can catch him off guard.
