Medal Request: Steel Cross Siyavash Kaida (6390)

A Steel Cross is awarded to a member whom aids their Quaestor or Aedile or provides mentorship, acting as a role model. In this instance, Siyavash did not aide her Quaestor, but her Consul. Through the turbulence of wide-sweeping changes in the Brotherhood, she has found a niche in Scholae Palatinae where she can excel as a mentor and role model.

Clan Scholae Palatinae recently attained the honor of Second Clan in the Brotherhood Vendetta "Rites of Supremacy: Second Darkness" compiling 330 Clan points - outstripping four rival Clans to affirm their right as an Elite Clan. For contributions, participation and tenacity to ensure the Clan's wartime efforts... I award Siyvash this Merit Award. Compiling 154 individual points in the Fiction & ACC Events and taking the rank of 24th Overall in the Vendetta.

Additionally, she has accrued a Seal of Loyalty, four (4) Seals of Darkness and a Topaz Crescent. But it is not just individual activity I wish to highlight. Since coming to Scholae Palatinae, Siyavash has been inquisitive, helpful and shown a desire to explore the Star Wars universe. She has helped in the mentorship of Xen as our Clan ACC Trainer - explaining to him the mechanics of instruction and leading a writer along a path from average writing to exceptional writing. She has made general, unobtrusive observations to our own Envoy System & Master-Student Program - helping with efficiency.

All of this, of course, during her tenure as Knight Commander of the Brotherhood. While I cannot quantify her work with the Brotherhood as a whole, I can attest to her impact on Scholae Palatinae during that time. While the Clan was thrust through a series of ups and downs at the position of Knight Class Envoy, Siya helped us maintain status quo until a suitable replacement was found. Along with this, she worked with, then Knight Adjutant, Rasilvenaira to help her grasp the complexities of balancing a diverse group of individuals (the collective KCEs of six Clans).

For individual contributions in the Vendetta, her work as a mentor to Xen & Silver, and her willingness to engage new, and old, members of the Clan to make a better community for everyone... I wish to present her with a Steel Cross.

While I can see how this might be inhibiting to Siyavash's progress towards a promotion to Krath Archpriestess, I simply do not know if she will be returning to the Brotherhood, and would like to show her that I truly appreciate her efforts by rewarding her this token of my gratitude and recognition. In my opinion, Krath Priestess Siyavash, although now transferred to the Rogues due to being MIA, must be rewarded for her service, dedication, and hard work for House Acclivis Draco.

Since joining Scholae Palatinae last September, Siyavash was a member who would always bug you for more work. Hesitant, because I didn't really know her, I waved off her first several attempts with a "Everything is covered here." Honestly, everything was covered.

With her next attempt, I gave her a list of options. I recall her not liking any of them, so I vaguely suggested "House and Clan rituals". She eagerly snatched up the idea and rolled with it with very little guidance. In one week, she had written up two pages concerning rituals that corresponded with Clan Scholae Palatinae's artifacts. She wrote four rituals and truly showed that she was both creative, ingenious, and gifted with the talent to write. Soon after, she was working with then-Consul Braecen Kunar with other rituals: appointment to positions (AED, QUA, PCON, CON, etc.), promotions, and being awarded the Clan name - Palpatine.

As the new year dawned, my Aedile(s) and I were churning out more ideas. When I announced that the HAD Review (a project geared towards recording history) would continue after my Aedile, and founder of the Review, Rhaub D'ar Aghasett, transferred to Rogues, Siyavash enthusiastically volunteered to help. I slowly built together a guide for interviewers that totaled to five pages. Siyavash reviewed the guide and edited it.

For her continuous advice, work, and greatness, I recommend a Steel Cross for Priestess Kaida. Congratulations, Siya! I hope you come back.
