OBM Shadow has continued to run the Obelisk Order as well as the GMRG when a lack of OHC and CoG was present. Without his contributions and will to continue to run competitions. The Order would now be at a loss. This award was well earned. OBM Shadow is a perfect example of what a Praetor should do. Excellent work Shadow. : OBM Exar Khaland

What can I say about Shadow? He is a stabilizing presence in Clan Taldryan, always around to talk, play JO, or whatever you want to do. He is helpful to new members, and always a good sounding board for new idea, since he is never afraid to give his opinion, and usually has something worthwhile to add. He definitely encourages IRC activity within the Clan, as he is one of the, if not the most noticeable IRC presences in Taldryan. He is always around on the message boards to add a comment at just the right moment to keep the topic going. His communication levels alone warrant this medal, but on top of that he is an active multiplayer presence, always ready for a game of JO. He is also active in non-Obelisk activities, such as the ACC, where he is a great member to duel with! All of these aspects combine to show that Shadow should be the proud recipient of a shiny new Grand Cross! (Consul Kir’s Holiday Awards 2003)

Shadow is, quite honestly, one of the most active gamers, and good-natured people in the Brotherhood. He may be the loosest slot on the gambling floor, but he's got a good attitude, and is always pressing himself, and Dinaari (and Taldryan as a whole) to better heights. His enthusiasm is always great to see, and his presence helps benefit everyone. Congrats, Shadow.

Dark Side Shadow Taldrya has served as the Gaming Tribune for a total of one month. In that time Shadow has accomplished more than the last three Gaming Tribunes combined.

Shadow's contributions as the Gaming Tribune has brought the Dark Brotherhood and updated Rites of Combat document, a special Halo 3 Competition, a King of the Hill competition, revised ICTE rules, revised weekly gaming rules, and revised SWG CF rules.

Shadow's work has brought organization and stability to our gaming in an unprecedented way.

Thanks for your hard work Shadow!

With the wiki back up, it is now time to award those who helped form it back into some semblance of what it was before it went down.

Other than Orv, Shadow was by far the most active person in helping fix the wiki. Without Shadow's help, we would not have gotten as far as we did. We had over 900 unique edits to the wiki during it's downtime. He was tireless and helping re-do many of the templates and re-adding them to the wiki pages. For all of his hard work that helped benefit the entire DB, I believe he is deserving of this award.

Shadow is the only reason our character sheets exist as they are today, and the only reason I am CM today. The only thing I would change, if I could, would be that it is he, not I, receiving an AK for the release of these sheets.

He brought me in to his project. Instantly, he and I shared a vision of a dynamic sheet that emphasized character customization, of simplification, and of parity. We knew the Brotherhood needed something that would allow members of all ranks to specialize themselves, while still providing a standard basis for competitive writing such as that in the ACC. Before I even knew of his plans, I suggested the Fate system - and as it turned out, he had already been looking into the option. His initial groundwork set the stage for our Fate of the Jedi Proposal, and without it, I wouldn't be CM today.

Shadow is an amazing, creative asset. He's the best writer I think I've had the pleasure of reading, and easily one of the most creative and dynamic minds the Brotherhood has ever seen. He was never really awarded for his part in the original proposal, and thus, I think I must give him the award he so definitely deserves: A Grand Cross.

Shadow, congratulations!

When it comes to members in the Dark Brotherhood, everyone knows about Aidan Kincaid, nee Shadow Taldrya. He’s quite simply a powerhouse when it comes to fiction, being generally regarded as the best wordsmith we’ve got right now, and he deserves the reputation. Shad’s tireless efforts in both Brotherhood wide, and Taldryan specific competitions ensure that his voice is one of the most widely read in the Dark Brotherhood’s newly tracked and evolving canon, and we’re extremely lucky for it.

Shadow’s work extends beyond just his own contributions to fiction though, working as an organizing force for Taldryan’s writers during the Fading Light runon, as well as helping edit and guide many of Taldryan’s budding writers in the ACC. He is not content to just sit back on his laurels of being a great writer, but he shares his expertise with any in Taldryan who ask him. I know many people, including myself, who can point to Shad’s guidance as a great contributor to our own growth.

Thank you Shad, and please accept this Grand Cross as a token of your Clan’s appreciation.

Proconsul of Clan Taldryan,

Keirdagh Taldrya Cantor

Shadow is a big ol’ whore, and probably the most active member the Dark Brotherhood has in its ranks. Amassing medal after medal in almost every competition he enters. Few can match his activity, even fewer can match his ability to dominate competition. I know this because for the past month or two, I’ve been trying - desperately, and failing - to keep up with him.

Just a quick overlook of his history tab shows crescent after cluster, after crescent flowing into his medal case. Yet it is not Shadow’s drive for whoring prestige, but his contributions to Taldryan as a whole that will forever set him apart. A master of the written word, a fictioneer in full, Shadow constantly has a hand in guiding, aiding, and showing the way for all of those that hold an interest in the finer activities of the Brotherhood.

The past few months, Shad has entered in little over 40 Crescent giving competitions - snatching up placements in 80% of them , the testament of his writing prowess to be found in the countless Clusters of Ice he has been awarded - well over 70. Along with this he has supplemented his activity with various trivias, of which he has won his fair share. His tireless work on the Brotherhood’s wikipedia have seen him being awarded two Dark Side Scrolls. Not a man to hoard his talents for himself, Shadow has also been awarded several Scrolls of Foundation for guiding those that need guidance. Perhaps a testimony of “vintage” Obelisk-ness, Shadow has also gotten himself over a hundred Clusters of Fire.

In short; Shadow is a role model for Taldryan, if not the Brotherhood as a whole. Not only does he excel at everything he does, he does so while being approachable by those that seek to emulate his success.

Shadow, you are a cornerstone of Taldryan, a vital part of the foundation of the Brotherhood, and someone I personally have come to rely on to be a better writer. I’m looking forward to the day I place ahead of you in a fiction competition; it’ll be the same day we raid Howie’s fridge for his beer, and shave of Yacko’s mighty beard.

I’ve basically run out of nice things to say about Shadow, aka Aidan Kincaid. The guy is basically unchallenged in his reign as the Brotherhood’s absolute best writer. He has off days, and still knocks something out of the park that is light years beyond his competitors. In all of this, he continues to basically just kick ass all day long, for fun, and carry on like it’s nobody’s business. In a world where he’s basically done just about everything that can be expected of him, he just keeps doing more crap.

Shad had a disappointing GJW. Now, let me frame that: Shad had a disappointing GJW because he only won 1 GN, placed top 10 in a few other things, and ONLY participated in 6 out of 11 events. He only participated in over half them, and oh, wait, what’s that? Yeah, every event except 2nd round puzzle that he did participate in, he placed top 10 in. I’m almost sick of how good this guy is at everything he does.

Since Shad’s last award, he’s also managed to be named the first hero of Fading Light, won another GN, and a couple Bronze Novas, won 6 crescents, 400+ CFs, 6 PoBs and any other amount of sundry awards. Shad is awesome, and I hate him. Congrats on this Grand Cross, whore.

Shad. Thrust? But seriously - Shad (aka: his fake name Aidan Kincaid) is a be-damnedable machine of Taldryan, and I'd wager he is in the top 3 of the most talented members in this club. His raw talents can be identified by the sheer number of medals he's raked up since his last Grand Cross in August: a Gold Nova, two Bronze Novae, six crescents, six Pendants of Blood, 473 Clusters of Fire, 19 Clusters of Ice, a Dark Side Scroll and a Seal of Loyalty. Just so we are clear? Those novae? Those are not from Great Jedi War 11, those are from before - from Fading Light in 2014. In addition, Shad has participated in 11 competitions (excluding GJW 11) - meaning he's batting an absurdly high percentage of placement versus participation (it's something like 50%). Now, when we go into Shad's GJW participation and placement? He racks up even more medals, as you can see from the Proconsul's recommendation. Given Shad's massive efforts, and his successes, he should be awarded a Grand Cross of the Dark Side. Again. Go Shad!
