OOC: A personal announcement

Dear members of the Brotherhood,

since there are already a few rumors circulating in spite of the very limited number of people I have discussed this decision with, I might as well announce it publicly right now instead of when it will actually happen: I shall be resigning from the Dark Council as soon as the Dark Jedi War is over and the medals for it have been given out.

As to why I made this decision, I want to look back a bit. Many of you - about all of those with dossier number of 3300 or higher - never knew me as anything but a Councillor. First as Headmaster and then as Lord Hegemon, I have served the Council over three years. And as things come, after a while you want change. I have come to miss the livelyness of being in a Clan and the daily needs of being in the Council have become more and more of a chore than of a pleasure - and that has been the case for several months now. Yet, before completely retiring to being just a member who occasionally takes part in competitions and is otherwise roster fodder, I wanted to finish my two major projects: The Great Jedi War that you are currently experiencing and the Roleplaying system for the DJB. Now for the first one, I needed the Council status - it is just not possible to do a War from within a Clan for simple conflict of interest. And for the second one - expect me to take a bit of a time out to recover from the war and associated stress and then hopefully things in the DB are so that I can do what I need to do.

I have proposed to Jac that, in line with the changes made in Project Amalgamation, the office of Lord Hegemon will be dissolved in fiction and in reality. It was a leftover of the old times - a project turned position - and now that I have the option of doing so, I want to make it what it should have been since Amalgamation was conceived: a project I can do at my own schedule. However as to what exactly he wants to do with the office, I will leave to him to announce since I can only recommend.

So, another four weeks and you're rid of the Kaiann. At least as a councilor. (If you want to rejoice over it, now would be the time. Go and yell in joy, I'll wait :) ). This has been a decision I wanted to take for a few months now and now that I am free to take it, I will.

It's been a good time in the Council and I would not want to have missed it, but it is time to move on once I have tied up the last loose ends from this war. Enjoy the last weeks!

PS: I'll say my thanks when it's actually the day. I have a few people to thank, but that'll happen when it's truly over.

It is the wise man who knows when to quit before he gets fired.
