Another triple elimination ladder change

Players,

Lucius yesterday approached me with a concern in the ladder scoring. While thinking about his problem, I discovered a possibly horrible rules abuse available to two maliciously cooperating players that would essentially invalidate the efforts of most honest ladder players. To eliminate that possibility, the placing rules are changed as follows.

  • Any non-eliminated player with nine or more matches on record will continue to enjoy the guarantee of being placed in front of all eliminated players.

  • Any non-eliminated player with eight or fewer matches will be ranked as if they had been eliminated with twice the number of wins as they actually have (so e.g. a 6-1 score counts as if the player had achieved a 12-3 record).

(The number nine was chosen because it reflects the minimum count a player needs to not receive a forfeit if they signed up at the very start)

Please take this into account during your match planning.
