Case 057 DB v. Xanos Zorrixor: Jury Deliberation and Punishment

Dark Jedi Brotherhood,

DB v. Xanos Zorrixor resulted in a verdict that recommended expulsion. This recommendation resulted in a random website generated jury that has deliberated the facts of the trial. The jury has delivered a unanimous decision to expel Xanos Zorrixor. This decision was made following 24 hours of deliberation and discussion.

Grand Master Cotelin executed his duties as Justicar, but the decision to expel was the jury's and the jury's alone. Their deliberations, discussions, and decision were held outside of the Justicar and Grand Master's purview.

Jac and I have decided to release this result with a joint statement. This is an unfortunate event in the history of the Dark Brotherhood, but one that has exercised the very Covenant designed to protect our members. Trials, defenses, jury deliberations, and decisions were carried out in a professional manner and great care was taken to conduct all aspects of this case by the letter of the Covenant. Gone are the days where a club leader or random figurehead possesses the singular power to remove our members.

This case and the resulting expulsion are also a clear indication that a member's rank does not provide them a cloak of protection. Xanos was nearly our Grand Master, achieved the highest rank a non-Grand Master can achieve, and was a distinguished contributor to our club for many years. Despite these accolades, Xanos was not above the Covenant. He was warned by both Jac and I to stop his behavior, he was found guilty of Extremely concerning harassment, he repeated that harassment against the clear and repeated wishes of DJB member, and he did so with the knowledge that additional punishment would occur.

This is an unfortunate day for the Dark Brotherhood, but it is a day that has confirmed the fairness of our systems and processes for handling the most unfortunate situations we encounter. I am proud of the Justicar team and their tireless efforts to represent our club and its membership.

Grand Master Pravus
