Super cool how they are keeping Luke a secret. One more trailer tomorrow and then I'm satisfied hearing and seeing nothing else until release.

The rumour/leak/SuperShadowwackjobtheory I recall regarding Luke had something to do with them not wanting us to know if he's got a beard or not, as apparently how disheveled he looks might be related to the story, which could explain him not being shown.

But then, there was another rumour once that he doesn't even show up until the last few minutes of the film to greet Rey, but I'm more dubious of that one.

alot of the rumours suggested he was in hiding because he had grown too powerful and was too close to the dark side.

We already know the actor playing Kylo Ren, and it's not Mark Hamill. So unless they're having multiple actors wearing the same costume in a giant bait and switch (which would actually be pretty awesome), that seems doubtful.
