There is much to be said about the appearance of Kyros Velaris, but nothing stands out like his ice-blue gaze, piercing and luminous, almost otherworldly. Those eyes hold the cunning of a predator, patient and calculating, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
He cuts a dark, regal figure, tall and straight-backed with an athlete’s frame honed by years of discipline. His lavish, black hair, layered and fastened in a top knot, cascades over his broad shoulders, adorned by silver and bone jewelry braided through the strands. By contrast, his skin is nearly bone-white, weathered yet retaining a youthful tautness. High cheekbones and angular features are framed by sharp eyebrows and a meticulously groomed beard as dark as his hair. His well-proportioned nose, with a slight bump on the bridge, hints at a break long healed. More often than not, a sly, knowing smile sits upon his lips, pristine white teeth on display with a glint of sharp canines.
His name, his true identity, even his purpose, none can be known. For names hold power, his more than most. Freed from the chains of destiny, he walks a path of secrecy and deception, striking from the shadows against a galaxy that was never his to begin with. In the public eye, he wears the guise of Kyros Velaris, an aristocrat from the core worlds who is respected, wise, seemingly noble. Yet this mask, though thrilling, is a heavy one and in rare, unguarded moments his true nature seeps through, his arrogance and ruthlessness as sharp as a dagger in the dark.
To cloak his true nature, Kyros Velaris has mastered the art of vanishing within the Force—his power hidden, his embrace of the dark side buried, his very presence a void. His mind is a fortress of shadows, traps and mechanisms in place to counter telepathic intrusions. Memories and thoughts are nothing more than curated echoes, emotions twisted, projections designed to mislead. An endless act of concealment, it has hollowed him, sharpening his paranoia into a cold, obsessive vigilance. He is ever-watchful, for a single misstep might reveal the monster beneath the mask. Only when death threatens and all other paths have crumbled does he reveal what lies beneath.
To others, Kyros Velaris presents himself as a jovial and magnetic presence, charming and articulate though arrogant in his own right. The truth is quite different. It is all an act, a crafted façade shaped by cunning and theatrical precision, the work of a man adept at reading others and telling them what they wish to hear. He wields half-truths and falsehoods like an artist would a brush, each conversation like painting vivid murals of deception and manipulation. His speech is slow, deliberate, and laced with gravitas, delivered in a flourish designed to captivate. As a negotiator, he is exceptional. As an ally, he is treacherous. Those privy to his true nature would sooner entrust a starving Rancor with a herd of Bantha than place their faith in him.
Conniving. Self-serving. Ignoble. Beneath the beguiling façade lies a fiend, an unscrupulous man who manipulates and discards others to feed his cruel ambitions. He is highly perceptive, capable of dissecting behavioral patterns and body language with precision, stripping others down to their most vulnerable elements. As the proverb goes, knowledge is power. Thus, the more he knows about a person, the greater his control. This power is further magnified by his command of the Force which allows him to sense emotions, discern intentions, and, when necessary, bend minds to his will. To him, relationships are transactional in nature, rendering genuine connection all but impossible.
Though Kyros Velaris may have a propensity to avoid combat, one will find him to be quite adept with a lightsaber—disciplined, lethal and expertly trained. As a practitioner of Makashi and Shien, he embodies elegance and precision, capable of delivering calculated blows and feints as well as swift counters as he methodically probes his opponents for weaknesses. Duels are to him as much a battle of minds as it is of blades, where presence and psychological control are as important as a well-timed feint. His approach demands persistent analysis and adaptability, requiring him to assess and adjust strategies mid-combat lest he be outmaneuvered. Success, in his views, hinges on an intimate understanding of his adversaries.
Kyros Velaris has no qualms about resorting to trickery in order to gain the upper hand. Despite the toll repeated use can take, he weaves the Force into his attacks in subtle, misleading ways, employing telepathy, mind tricks, and sensory illusions to disorient his opponents and exploit openings. An expert in reading the battlefield and using the environment to his advantage, he can make judicious use of telekinesis to blindside and ambush his foes. His cunning extends to his lightsaber techniques where he incorporates deceptive maneuvers such as Tràkata. No ruse is beneath him. Such deceitful tactics demand intense focus and draw heavily on the Force, making them more suitable for duels than open warfare.
