Some have the belief that the Force is the guiding principle in the galaxy, a power that creates and changes people's destinies based on their standing and actions taken. Like the Sith Lord Darth Vader Kaelan Thorne believes that he alone forges his own destiny, but takes it one step further by not restricting his knowledge or abilities to solely the Jedi or Sith - almost always using his affinity in Concealment to shield his Force signature from others unless he decides he wants his true power known.

This freedom allows Kaelan Thorne to make choices, moral or otherwise, that others may find hard and not be held back by the notion that the Force does not will him so and therefore he cannot or will fail in his endeavors. Unfortunately, this belief system also hamstrings Kaelan Thorne from becoming fully devoted to either cause and can stifle knowledge gained from either.

Kaelan Thorne sees himself as the control subject in the science experiment called life. Often labeled as "boring" and "predictable", Kaelan Thorne keeps his wild and experimental side reserved for pet projects. This boring lifestyle leads to him being considered anti-social and when he does join others, instead of relaxing he prefers to keep quiet and observe.

Kaelan Thorne believes many lack patience. As soon as they see a threat or slight, they immediately lash out without any kind of sensible strategy. While this is effective in creating fear and intimidation, it can allow enemies to slip through their fingers.

To curb this Kaelan Thorne keeps a level head and steady Resolve in almost any situation, more often than not playing the long game. His emotions only bleed through in the most volatile instances. As a result he will come off as cold, calculating, and as though victory is the only thing that matters.

Most of the time, it does.

Kaelan Thorne is not afraid to exploit any advantage or position of power he has when dealing with others, and relies on a combination of fear, intimidation, manipulation and shows of strength to convince others to compromise and lose. Kaelan Thorne can be quite callous in his dealings with others, and never gives up his power. This has earned Kaelan Thorne with the reputation of a “bully” and can often make negotiations difficult before they even begin.

Kaelan Thorne is utterly devoted to success in combat, no matter the mission, no matter the cost. He has spent his life building himself in the image of war, utilizing a dogmatic regimen that has led him to a single-minded obsession with military success and requires intense physical and mental training. This training, however, has come at the cost of anything resembling empathy or concern for others - even his superiors and subordinates.

Sometimes the only way to prepare for the worst is to always expect it. Kaelan Thorne takes this philosophy one step further by never leaving home without accounting for every possible scenario he might expect to encounter. Kaelan Thorne tends to always have the right tool or item for a situation and has a habit of quietly and almost smugly presenting solutions before anyone even recognizes there is a problem. This foresight is far from infallible, however, and he often finds himself at a loss in situations that go beyond what he could have imagined. While incredibly practical and often a life-saver in a pinch, his perpetually pessimistic outlook on daily life can be a bit draining on more optimistic-inclined companions.
