Warlord Kyr Etah
Warlord Kyr Etah
Etah stands a rather unassuming five feet nine inches tall, but his dense frame is solid and formidable. He is broad-chested with thick traps and powerful lats. His physique reflects years of rigorous conditioning, but he looks more like a powerlifter with rugged genetics, who loves his life, rather than a pretty-boy bodybuilder on the verge of dehydration. He carries the rigid posture and deliberate, heavy-footed demeanor of a powerful warrior.
The distinctive biological fusion of his hybrid Mirialan- Zabrak lineage is striking and evident. He possesses the rich olive-green skin tone of a Mirialan, paired with darker green, rigid scales of a Zabrak that run across his jawline, neck, and shoulders. The three sharp vestigial horns emblematic of the Zabrak protrude subtly through his tight, dark brown hair, while dark geometric tattoos emblematic of the Mirialan cross his nose and eyes, forming a perfect synthesis of his dual heritage.
Etah’s piercing hazel eyes often hold a gaze so intense it’s easy to miss the light in them and that they are framed by a mischievous sideways smile. His messy mohawk is balanced by a neatly trimmed goatee, and both patches of hair carry almost imperceptible deep red highlights and splashes of gray.
Etah’s physical endurance is a double threat stemming from his mixed heritage. From his Dathomirian Zabrak side, he inherited an exceptional pain threshold and a dense physiology that together allow him to withstand physical damage that would incapacitate others. From his Mirialan side, he inherited catlike reflexes and an uncommon level of flexibility that together allow him to escape from situations that others couldn’t. He augments these natural gifts with a disciplined training regimen. Although Etah tempers his physical resilience and agility with clear, rational thinking, he still often ends up with injuries that could have been prevented. Because his body takes inhuman levels of damage before succumbing, he routinely overrides the distress signals his body sends to his brain. Suppressing this natural warning system allows him to press on well past what is safe, which results in minor damage becoming more severe injuries with prolonged recovery times.
The Jedi (Ashla) believe the light must triumph. The Sith (Bogun) believe the dark must dominate. The Gray believe a careful balance (Bendu) must be struck. The reality is that balance naturally arises from violent conflict between light and dark. He is Deathsworn, not good or evil in the classical sense, which are human constructs, but violence acting upon cosmic imperative. He doesn’t act in self-interest. He serves what he calls the Bleeding Force, the violent, entropic counterpoint to the living force. He fights Jedi not because he is evil and they are good, but because they are both servants of nature itself. Because of his lack of personal ambition, he sometimes becomes a pawn in others' schemes. But they often realize that he was a rook the whole time and has outmaneuvered them. Their petty plotting will come to naught; the galaxy will find harmony in blood.
The cliché of the Sith says that they are lone wolves and that love is weakness, but Etah never felt that way. Etah wasn’t born into a big family, but over the years he has forged his own handpicked tribe. Within his crew, he finds real joy and warmth. He’s often wondered why he feels different than other Sith, why he loves his crew, why he is loyal to his Clan when other Sith would not be. He wouldn’t learn until later in his life that he is not a descendant of Iridonian-Zabrak, but rather the Dathomirian-Zabrak. The Nightbrothers were not the leaders of their community; they were the protectors. His father hadn’t been raised as a Nightbrother, but those traditions remained in his blood, and anyone who goes out of their way to harm Etah’s family will find an angry Etah attempting to ensure that they never could again.
Etah wasn’t born into a culture or a people. He was neither visibly Mirialan nor raised amongst other Zarak. He didn’t have a large family. Most people are taught identity and culture, but Etah and his single mother were focused on survival. Etah built the fortress of his life one brick at a time. Unanchored by tradition or community, Etah forged his own identity in sweat and blood. Saber Rake, Kyrios, Dark Jedi, d’Tana Crime Lord, Shadesworn, Deathsworn. It’s not that he doesn’t need anybody, but he doesn’t need to look without for strength or validation. This has given him unshakable resolve. He knows himself and making him flinch or question that is extremely challenging. Sometimes this leads him to overestimate his abilities or underestimate situations. Which is not to say that he is rash, reckless, or dismissive of his opponents; just that he rarely backs down.
Etah utilizes his extraordinary strength and deep well of stamina to dominate his opponent. Their attacks crash upon his guard like waves breaking upon a rocky shore. His counters respond too rapidly for them to adjust strategies and are too powerful to do anything but hold on and pray. He weaves layers of his mastery of Djem So and Dun Möch, with his skill in intimidation to belittle, bully, and agitate his opponent, keeping them distracted and flat-footed. By maintaining a high volume of heavy strikes without fatiguing, he traps his opponents into a grinding tempo. This oppressive momentum drives targets toward physical exhaustion and mental panic. Should he be disarmed, Etah scrambles using Wrruushi wrestling to regain his weapon. However, this brute-force approach is inherently vulnerable to superior speed and pinpoint accuracy. Patient Soresu masters can outlast his initial assault, and agile combatants can exploit his linear movement.
Utilizing Soresu to lock physical combat into a stalemate, Etah shifts from physical warfare to psychological assault. He naturally and effortlessly wears an aura of intimidation around him like a supernatural cloak. He begins the deeper confrontation by piercing his opponent's resolve with debilitating fear. As the victim spirals into panic, Etah uses telepathy to peer into their thoughts, glimpsing the fears crushing their soul. His illusions slither over them like a two-headed serpent, the first whispering their private reservations to them in their own voice and the second bringing their personal horror to life in front of their eyes. He displays immeasurable patience as he methodically peels away his opponents' layers of resistance. However, if a foe's mental resolve eclipses Etah's power, the attack can falter. Most critically, maintaining this invasive mental penetration demands profound concentration, leaving Etah dangerously exposed to sudden physical counters or external threats.
