Strands Of Fate - Show And Tell

Every character has a story to tell.

Strands of Fate gives you a chance to tell these stories through an extended series of short glimpses into their lives, weaving together a tapestry that illustrates your character in a wide variety of different scenarios. This will help us, as fellow writers, to see your character in a different light and attain a new perspective, but will also help you to breathe new life into your character. With so many changes coming through the Brotherhood, this is a perfect time to show us how all these changes affect you. Using the given prompt, compose a short fiction entry that portrays the aspect of your character as stipulated.

Each competition will have a two-week timeframe and a word count maximum of 750 words. All Strands of Fate competitions will be graded using the Arcona fiction rubric.

It is recommended that you subscribe to and complete these prompts ahead of time - not only will this mean you have plenty of time to write them, but by completing them ahead of time that you have a more rounded and better idea for your character for other Brotherhood fiction events before the completion date of these events.

Show And Tell

All people have an object - whether a trinket, a weapon, a relic, or some other such thing - that we are proud of. What is this object? What does it mean to you? Do you perhaps have a knife that lays forever under your pillow? Is it the holocron you stole from your Clan's reliquary? Is it even your sister's jewelled necklace or your fallen brother's dogtags? Tell us about this item, its significance, how you came to claim it - why, then, it is the proudest thing you own.
