Zujenia blinked, taking in the serene look her lover had suddenly rested in. She smiled, sandy tail flicking as she leaned closer to press her forehead against his. "You've gone quiet on me. What ya planning in there?"

"Nothing, just this song." Again she blinked, her ears working to focus upon the soft lyrics and melody. Slowly, her cheeks reddened, her eyes lowering as a warmth spread within her abdomen. A hand caressed her face and she pressed deeper into her lover, her own wrapping around his shoulder.

"Zujenia, I love you."

"I love you too."

*grins* I know.

Where do I start? This song explains pretty much a lot. One, the two are engaged so they've definitely reached this level of gushiness. Two, both enjoy stealing glimpses of each other in those quiet moments where everything that harps on them on a daily basis seems to fall away, showing the individual in their rawness. So, sleeping, sitting and gazing into space, relaxing, playing. Three, catching each other in the rain, mmm yes. I could go on, but it's getting late and I think I've forgotten the number after three. :P

Qyreia's relationship with her girlfriend, Keira, started out very unconventionally (Keira was a Sadowan Quaestor, and Q her bodyguard) and has had plenty of ups and downs. Qyreia is a Zeltron fighting her own culture and heritage, while Keira is a clone that has the body of a twenty-something woman, but the life experience of a two year old... maybe five. At first, not knowing this, it was all Q could do to get Keira's attention, much less evoke romantic reactions or thoughts from the half-Umbaran (who didn't even know what romance was save for what she read on the holonet). But, one thing led to another, and they became an item; one that got more intense once Keira was no longer a Quaestor.

So this song encompasses why Qyreia really loves this woman who literally learned to love a Zeltron who had so often felt alone. "I'm everything I am because you loved me," would be an accurate reaction for Q. She stands taller around Keira; finds strength when she feels weak; and has even been dragged from a suicidal depression simply by Keira's efforts and faith. If it weren't for that stalwart tenacity at the toughest point in their relationship, Qyreia wouldn't be alive right now. Thus, she places so much importance on Keira simply "because she loved her."

So, this is pretty friggin self-explanatory...and a little feels and amusing.
And in case you don't get to the end of the song:

Although there is much to be disclosed about the relationship between these two, keep in mind that Mae was on the back-burner and being "trained" by K'tana for a few months. Most of the song, when I hear it, comes from Maenaki's point of view, except one verse:

Or as I like to call it, K'tana's Verse :D

So I've gotta let you run"- I hear this when I picture Maenaki allowing K'tana to leave Ol'val to seek her freedom elsewhere.

(Honorable mention goes to Willa's- Swan. Sadly there is a line that says "I'm not a debutante", but that's kinda exactly what Mae is and I'd hate to mislead people. :P)
