Competition: How-To Haiku: Armor

How-To Haiku: Armor

"You think that armour's gonna help?" —Unknown Rebel Trooper, Battlefront II

Mercenaries, bounty hunters, military troops, Jedi Knights, and Sith Lords all share an interest in battlefield protection. When engaged in the epic conflicts which determine galactic history, the desire to survive and taste victory has been channeled into the design of countless suits of armor. For this haiku, imagine the feeling of wielding your own armor, wading into fateful duels or era-spanning wars. How does it feel? What does it do? Explore your connection with your armor, whether it's military standard issue, a sign of your heritage, or a conduit for the Dark Side. Will you live, or will you die?

Entries will be graded according to this rubric: 50% creativity, 25% poetic structure, 25% spelling and grammar. Submissions should be in some kind of word processor format (no links, files must be submitted or typed in the text box), and written in the style of a haiku with a "5-7-5" syllable count.

Nothing can hurt me no more,
Safety you bring me.

I trust my armor.
