Competition: Reflections of Bygone Battles

Finished
Reflections of Bygone Battles

Warrior-Poets were among the most revered champions of feudal Japan, their names echoing through the ages. Their speciality was the Haiku.

Now you, survivors of the Great Jedi War, will assume the role of the Warrior-Poet. Reflect upon your experience in the Great Jedi War (in-character) with an epic Haiku.

Entries must consist of a multi-stanza Haiku at least 3 stanzas in length. There is no upper limit on length. Submission to the text box directly is preferred, but all types are allowed. Grading will be based on quality and creativity. Grading will be blinded.

Desolation world
Your sterile, trying and dead
Parched, I conquered thee

Dissident nation
Your enmity, my fuel
Beaten, I tore my way through

Conquest, I mastered
Pain, tears and loss I suffered
Victory was mine

Submission by Drae'lath Rahath: "The Smiling Man"

Filled now with corpses
Lit by the burning torches
Watch the city burn

The violins sing
The people now scream; ears ring
The Sky bleeds ashes

The earth burns the sky
They all wonder why and who
Is the smiling man
