Competition: SRI Research Project #1 - Fiction

SRI Research Project #1 - Fiction

The future Supreme Leader of the SRI is currently living on the surface of Chyron, even if that person isn’t even aware of the position or the organization. Kagu Shi is the enigmatic leader of a small but very advanced street drug manufacturing operation. Little is known of Shi after his life within the Imperial bureaucracy ended but all declassified documents indicate that Shi was a budding chemist working at the Clouzon-36 facilities in the Caelus System when the Empire fell. There are no references to the scientist in any official records in the intervening years but after surveilling his activities for the past few weeks it is clear he has been very busy.

It seems that Shi now runs a very efficient operation out of Dark Sector that our agents believe not only designs and manufactures new versions of popular street drugs but also has the infrastructure to distribute its product and protect its operations. Analysis of the data we have indicates that Shi oversees both the manufacturing and militant sides of the organization. This ability to have a dual focus, both research and paramilitary, along with Shi’s knowledge of Chyron’s underworld has led Justinios Drake to choose the former Imperial scientist as the first Supreme Director of the SRI.

You are now tasked with bringing Kagu Shi into the fold.

Multi-Prompt

  • Prompt #1 (Positive Morality): Our field agents have presented you with an amazing opportunity, the ability to set up a meeting with Kagu Shi. This operation is yours to plan: your cover, the reason for the meeting, the location, who else might be involved, etc., are all up to you. The end result of your efforts should be that Kagu Shi willingly agrees to join the SRI as Supreme Director but everything leading up to that, including any trouble that arises, is yours to decide.

  • Prompt #2 (Negative Morality): A face to face meeting with a crime lord just isn’t your thing. Looking at the dossier you notice that Shi’s facility isn’t set up to defend against someone of your skill. The defenses are formidable but they also seem to be standard criminal fair, designed to keep a rival gang out but not a single highly skilled operative. You decide to forgo the meeting and instead choose to let yourself into Shi’s facility to remove the former Imperial scientist by force. Fight or sneak into the facility and remove Kagu Shi by force.

For both prompts remember that Rian has standing orders that no evidence can be left linking any activities to those of Force Users. Incorporate this fact into your stories as it best applies to your character.
