Competition: What's the Scenario?

What's the Scenario?

Details

Mirroring the style seen in the ACC Venues, create a Scenario Hall style venue. This is no different than a standard venue, but incorporates some story to replace the set-up that a typical "first poster" would do in the ACC. The exact details that your scenario must include are as follows:

  • Basic venue description including some of the following:
    • weather details
    • buildings, terrain, obstacles
    • anything visual that could inform the participants
  • Clear story and set-up for an encounter type as listed:
    • Member vs Member
    • Member vs Member vs Other
    • Members vs Other

While not required, it is encouraged that members include a potential image, as these may be incorporated into the system upon launch of the Scenario Hall with any required changes to make it suitable for the style of the format.

How to Submit

  • Your entry for this competition will be in one of the following formats: .doc, .docx, .rtf, .txt, .pdf
  • Google Doc submissions will not be accepted. If you write in Google Docs, please use the File menu and save as a PDF

Grading Criteria

  • Syntax (15%)
  • Originality (25%)
  • Entertainment (25%)
  • Suitability for the ACC (35%)

These categories will be graded on a 1-5 scale where Syntax is based on grammar and spelling, Originality is how unique and stand-out the scenario is, Entertainment is based on how engaging the scenario is, and Suitability for the ACC is based on how effective the scenario is for setting up an encounter for two members, whether it be cooperative, antagonistic, or a mixture of both.

Addendum:
I left the 'scenario' open as it seemed best to fit the provided example. It is fairly straightforward to see how a Member v Member or any other combination would play out, with the abundance of Iron Throne personnel (and environmental hazards) around.

[Scenario] Utapau: Pau City - Climbing the Ranks

Located in the [Outer Rim](http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Outer_Rim_Territories) of the galaxy, [Utapau](http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Utapau) has a singularly unique geography composed of a small molten metallic core, a rocky mantle, and a chalky, porous crust. The crust is punctured by hundreds of large sinkholes, which lead downwards to a massive subterranean ocean which encircles the planet. The surface itself is very dry and arid, covered in rough scrubland.

Utapau is inhabited by two native sentient species, the long lived [Pau’un](http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Pau%27an)and the short, fleeting [Utai](http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Utai). These natives live together in vast, multi-level, subterranean cities which are built into the walls of the planets largest sinkholes and connected to each other by a cave network. Using the native [Varactyls](http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Varactyl) and [Dactillions](http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Dactillion) as mounts, the citizens can travel easily between different levels of the city by flying or climbing along it’s rocky walls.

[Pau City](http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Pau_City) is the planet’s capital and primary spaceport, and the center of all activity on Utapau. Shipments of ore and raw material mined from deep below the planet's surface are exported in return for food, technology, and other materials that the planet lacks. The city is most famous for the role it played in the closing stages of the [Clone Wars](http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Clone_Wars), when the neutral planet was occupied and used as a base for the [Separatist](http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Confederacy_of_Independent_Systems) [General Grievous](http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Grievous).

You have been assigned to escort a V.I.P from the lower levels of the city to a waiting transport near the surface. His services will be of immense value to you, and you’ve been commanded to ensure they do not come to any harm. Unfortunately, other members of the Brotherhood have discovered his presence here and will try to kidnap them before you can make it to the shuttle.

The Most Dangerous Game

Members vs Other

You awaken at night in an open cage to a humid and vibrant jungle island filled with exotic flora. Any memory of how you got to this situation comes up blank, and the constellations in the skies say nothing on where you are in the galaxy. However, a mark painted on your cage reveals a vaguely familiar emblem. The memory is fuzzy, but you recall recognizing the symbol as a crest for Trandoshan Game Hunters: A league that kidnaps worthy prey into one of their moons to hunt for sport. You are now the next prey of the hunt, and by the looks of the identical cages nearby, you are not the only one playing the Trandoshan’s most dangerous game.

I hope to create a submission that would allow for non-traditional combatants to have a place to go to. Scavengers, Directors, Field Medics, Hunters, and the like have more trouble in the ACC since they are usually not entirely combat based. However, this location provides a multitude of avenues to explore while allowing for Member vs. Member and Member vs. Other to occur. The scenario is adaptable to the players involved.
