Welcome to the second Research Project of the Sphere of Research and Intelligence (SRI). The winning fiction of the previous round, submitted by Kooki, threw the nascent organization into chaos. Instead of recruiting the former Imperial scientist Kagu Shi into the SRI to act as Supreme Director, the Sith ended the life of the crime lord in what she claims was self-defense.

With the surviving parts of Shi’s organization now in disarray, the search for a Supreme Director has been put on hold. The House Summit hopes this will allow the SRI to focus on acquiring as much of the relevant possessions that belonged to the quickly disintegrating criminal empire as is possible. However, the SRI is not the only group looking to take advantage of the opportunity. Other criminal enterprises are also looking to scoop up the remains of Shi’s syndicate. As the SRI races to acquire the means to finally begin working on it’s research mission, the organization reaches out to the main body of Clan Taldryan for assistance.

This round is being opened up for the entire Clan, meaning a non-Ekrrosis member could possibly come up with the winning fiction which may push the SRI forward as an organization or send it further into disorder.

It’s not fair! I WANT to go!” boomed a female voice.

A loud stamping of a foot echoed.

“But you can’t. It’s not safe.” The male voice replied.

A disapproving groan was all that could be said at a time like this.

“Please,”

“No,”

“Pleeeasseee,”

“No. Don’t beg. Just don’t,”

“Pretty pretty please,”

“Fine! But I set the rules!”

“But…”

“No buts. No ifs. Leave no traces. You wear this and when it vibrates you return back to your safe base. If you need…” the male voice sighed as he relented to the female’s demands.

She had already left the room excitedly.

“Mumma’s going on a mission!” Kooki squealed quietly.

Intelligence Update

There is a flurry of activity aboard the Paragon as Quaestor Drake and Aedile Colonel Quejo scramble between offices to direct field agents between an almost endless stream of leads. Agents are pulling back to back missions attempting to locate and report the assets and personnel belonging to Kagu Shi’s former syndicate. All activities surrounding the identification and recruitment of a new Supreme Director have been suspended indefinitely in order to more fully support the identification and recovery of Shi’s supply line and research apparatus.

Research Update

With the unexpected death of Kagu Shi the already disorganized Research Division of the SRI remains leaderless and without any real direction. Additionally, the original plan to fill the division with the scientists Shi was expected to bring in from his own organization hasn't come to fruition with his untimely passing. It was also hoped much of the equipment and devices needed to begin high level research would also have been acquired along with Shi and without it the few scientist the SRI has on staff do not have much to work with.

With the SRI completely devoid of almost any scientific talent, as well as the devices those personnel would need to conduct their work, no progress has been made on any advancements.

Morality

The current morality of the SRI is: Marginally Unprincipled

“Members should take care to minimize all casualties, especially innocent casualties. While on a mission the member can aggressively defend itself if under duress but should not initiate combat. SRI officials will likely look the other way over members breaking property laws or misdemeanors.”
