What if the Empire and First Order deployed TIE-fighters either in advance or at the first sight of Rebel/Resistance starfighters? We'd all be praising Palpatine... :P

Here's my what if???

What if during the time on Mustafar, Padme had alternative motives. When she shows up and confronted Anakin about killing the children. He then chokes her, but it doesn't kill her. As he and Obi-wan fought, she awakens and overheard Anakin professing why he did it, to save and protect the woman he loves. She then remembers that Anakin lost his mother because he couldn't save her and it tears her apart at his anguish.

So she then gets up, goes into the control room, and sees that Obi-wan is beating his former padewan, and unbeknownst to them, she pulls out her blaster and shoots Obi-wan in the skull, killing him. She then runs over to Anakin and professes her love for him. They then agree to putting her in hiding, faking her death.

As Anakin makes his way back to the capital, he rushes in to see Palpatine and Yoda in a fierce battle in the Senate rotunda. Anakin helps Palpatine to defeat Yoda. As the Emperor gloats in his victory of the ultimate defeat of the Jedi, Anakin slices off Palpatine's head. As he looks down over him, Anakin announces that the siege between the Sith and Jedi are over and he is the new Emperor. He and Padme then later reunite as they bring the Republic to order, removing those that are corrupt. Padme then gives birth to the twins who are both raised as Grey Jedi with training in both sides of the Force. They rule the galaxy for 50 years till Luke and Leia take over.
