Competition: [Phase 1] Survival

Trapped. Marka Ragnos has been reeled into a trap sprung by a deadly new force.

Sealed within an occupied base you must ensure yourself and other House members are able to survive the oncoming storm before you are overwhelmed and killed. The enemy is many, your forces are few and they have the element of surprise on their side.

Your objectives in this story are two-fold:

• 1) Find a way to remove the barrier encircling the base.
• 2) Escape through the jungle towards the Acclamator cruiser and prepare for the next stage of the operation.
  

This is a fiction competition, utilising the Voice Fiction rubric with a minimum word count of 500 words.

The enemy forces are many. Your primary goal is to survive and time is short.
