[CNS-PLA Antiquity] Week 1: Mission Playlist

Most folks have playlists. Some of them help us focus, some of them help us relax. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create a Mission Playlist that fits what your character might listen to during a mission. This music should fit your character, their personality and more specifically what sort of music might help get them get into the mood for Operation: Antiquity. The songs you pick should have some kind of meaning to your character, and touch on their personality, combat, or general Aspects that would be found on a Character Sheet or DB Wikipedia article. You can be as detailed, or simple as you want. You can simply list the songs your character would have on their playlist, or you can go into more detail and tell me more about why you think the songs are fitting to them.

How To Submit

In order to be valid, any entries must include/meet the following requirements:

  • Link to the Character Sheet/Wiki.
  • Contain a minimum of 7 songs.
  • There is no limit to how many songs you can list, but spamming songs for the sake of length will result in a lesser grade.
  • Linking to Youtube (www.youtube.com) for song references is not required, but it will help your chances of placement to include them.

And should be submitted in the following formats:

  • PDF Formated Document
  • The Text-Field of the competition itself using Markdown formatting. We will not accept Google Docs links or shares: you can use the File -> ‘Download As’ option to generate a PDF for submission.

Character Playlist entries will be graded on the following criteria:

  • The judges- Bentre and Arden- will review the playlist and determine its relevance to your character by examing aspects (Combat, Personality, or even just in General) and how well the playlist paints an overall picture of your character in light of their respective Clan's part in Operation: Antiquity.
  • In order to place, an approved character sheet will be required.
  • Level of detail used to explain song choices that have been selected.

1. [*What A Wonderful World*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWzrABouyeE)* - **Louis Armstrong** -- Scudi likes this song because apart from being something of a music connoisseur, as referenced in her Backseat Serenade aspect, this is a nice, relaxing jazz(jizz in-universe) song that talks about the beauty of nature.
2. [*Four Seasons*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRxofEmo3HA)* - **Antonio Vivaldi** -- Classical music, this peace in particular allows provides a nice rythm for Scudi do hum along as she's working on accessing some system or repairing something. Its length also works because of the variance of each of the 'four seasons' having their own style and feel to them.
3. [*Paris*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhU9MZ98jxo)* - **The Chainsmokers** -- So, this is a more emotive choice, inspired by the incredibly short first relationship Scudi had. It reflects the kind of thing that went through her head. The definition given at the start of the video is also important as it's what's meant whenever Paris is mentioned in the lyrics, not the RL location.
4. [*Bad Things*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpbQ4I3Eidg)* - **Machine Gun Kelly & Camila Cabello** -- This is kind of a transitional piece, but it also strikes pretty hard at Scudi's core. She's not really one to get close to people and has been hurt by allowing herself to get close to people before.
5. [*LATELY*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zvWfI2iF64)* - **Machine Gun Kelly** -- This song touches on Scudi's rise from poverty and how she's not always the most positive person.
6. [*Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-jC3H_8Dk4)* - **Good Charlotte** -- So here's another thing that touches on how Scudi was poor growing up and the anti-establishment, anti-corporate message combined with the aggressive tone of the song really makes it fit.
7. [*Duel of the Fates*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlYCxbBZUCY)* - **John Williams** -- Scudi would love how epic this sounds and its ability to be used for a variety of situations help it place here above many other pieces of music.
8. [*Moonlight Sonata*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Tr0otuiQuU)* - **Ludwig van Beethoven** -- Scudi would love how relaxing this is and as such it makes the playlist come full circle, which is pretty neat given how emotional it gets after the beginning. That's something she's all about, experiencing a variety of styles and emotions, which I think is perfectly reflected in the choice of not just this piece, but the whole list.

1. [*Darkest Hours*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChDhSKA_Vdg)* - **Daniel Ciurlizza** -- Instrumental and heavy, but tinged with more than a little space-opera tradition, this song should be on everyone's playlist, even if it is a little bit of a nod to the fourth wall.

2. [*Kvervandi*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A96T7pc3wog)* - **Skuggsja** -- The drone/chant of this song and the building aggression suits Muz and his M.O. very well. The lyrics, calling back to ancient traditions and the cycle of life and death also play well into the Krath tradition and belief system Muz holds.

3. [*the Wolf*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1UAjpQVeFc)* - **Fever Ray** -- "Eyes black, big paws and it's poison, and it's blood. And big fire, big burn, into the ashes, and no return... we took you right from your mother's home, our temple, your tomb..." In the same vein as the previous song, but with almost autobiographical lyrics, this would mean a lot to him.

4. [*The Thrill Has Gone*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIz2OkmHImY)* - **Atmosphere** -- is slow, melodic, and somewhat ominous, which plays right into Muz's wheelhouse.

5. [*The Background World*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjIBVsaJzI8)* - **Nine Inch Nails** -- It's said that knowledge is power, and too much of either can warp a person's sense of reality. Muz's sometimes tenuous grasp on how the rest of the world sees things is sometimes called into question, and the lyrics of this song speak to this somewhat.

6. [*Raise your Weapon & the Frail*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h22i_TqpUPI)* - **Becko (cover of original songs by Deadmau5 and Nine Inch Nails** -- Starting ominous and smooth as many of the other songs in this list, it transitions into aggressive and pumping music for a short while before falling back for a breather. This would be a good track for the transition into necessary action.

7. [*Spoiler*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G70S5fumHso)* - **Hyper** -- High energy and heavy, this is kinetically a good hype-up song for aggression.

8. [*Dessumiis Luge*] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cbOA0QyaC0)* - **Eluveitie** -- Literally a *Black Curse* in Gaulish set to music, drum heavy and super aggressive, this is another high-energy and brutally aggressive song that ends rather abruptly.
