Competition: [SARLACC] Round 2: For Science!

Pleased that members of the Brotherhood successfully retrieved enough live specimens from Uskil’s breached research habitats, the Shadow Academy’s researchers moved swiftly to transport the creatures to the Colosseum for further testing.

In the following weeks, specialist medics and healers were brought in to restore wounded creatures to optimal health, and the already formidable Colosseum was fortified for its special guests and equipped with state-of-the-art scanning equipment designed to collect a variety of physiological and behavioral data on the creatures.

Eager to see how the affected beasts perform under duress and in combat, the Headmistress has called upon members anxious to prove themselves or to study the experiments up close to aid in this research: for science!*

Rules and Scoring

All rules, scoring and awards are governed by the parent competition.

• If participating in the Academy’s research is unrealistic for your character(s), you may write attempting to help the creature escape from this scenario, BUT the focus of the battle must be on the conflict between your characters and the creature. Ignoring that conflict will affect your Story score. Keep in mind that trapped, “enhanced” and wild animals may not easily see you as an ally, despite good intentions.

Venue & Creature Selection

For round two, participants must select the [SCENARIO] SARLACC 2021, Round 2: Arx Colosseum venue from the SARLACC 2021 competition hall. Within that scenario venue, teams will engage one of the creatures from the list below. The creature that the participants deal with during the battle must be clearly specified in the first post.

If a creature normally lives in a group (flock, herd, pack, swarm, etc.), members may use a group of those creatures in SARLACC battles. Since the fiction introducing this competition mentions that the escaped creatures have been altered to become even more dangerous, members are also free to decide whether and how the creatures they’re hunting have been modified.
