Competition: Arcona Vignettes: Origins

Vignette - a short and descriptive piece of writing that captures a brief period in time.

Every Arconan comes from somewhere. Often times, a persons past can weigh heavily over their present, and while some might be forthcoming with their backgrounds, others prefer to leave theirs behind or buried under the weight of time.

Prompt

Tell us a story about a time or event in your characters past, and how it in some way lead them towards seeking out someone or something connected to Clan Arcona, or the Dark Brotherhood at large. It can be any story, really, that happened at any point within your character's backstory, but the focus should be on a brief period or focus on the details of that event, and how it impacted the characters present position within the Shadow Clan.

How To Submit

1. Entries must be submitted in either .pdf, or .word document, or by using the Submission text box field in either plain text or markdown.
2. While your story can feature as many NPCs/characters from your characters past/your imagination, entries must be written from the perspective and/or point of view of either your Main, Alternative, or Slotted NPC characters with character sheets.
   
3. You can attach a snapshot to your entry by checking of any of your Loadouts listed just before the "Create Submission" field.

Grading

Please keep the following core rules in mind when submitting your entry:

1. Entries must be a minimum of 500 words, with no maximum.
2. Grading will be done in accordance with the Fiction Rubric. That means the entry will be graded in four categories: Spelling/Grammar, Story, Realism, and Creativity! As a bonus: All participants will receive direct feedback on their entry from the grading judge, with red-lining/comments. If you do not wish to receive feedback, just indicate as such in your entry.
