Competition: Planet Landmark #1

Finished
Planet Landmark #1

With our relocation to Korus, it gives us a clean slate to world build from. As of right now, there is nothing on Korus except the Kast War Forge, and that needs to change.

Korus is a sandy desert planet, with extreme temperature swings (unbearably hot during the day and crazy cold at night) around the the equator, this area is inhospitable to MOST lifeforms.

The majority of the rest of the planet is your standard desert biome, while the poles consist of a cool desert biome that are much more hospitable to all life (flora and fauna, think Sedona, AZ).

Instructions:

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to provide ONE (1) sci fi -esque planetary landmark that can be added to the Korus Map and a small explanation behind it.

Grading:

Submissions will be graded by awesomeness, ability to develop them in or into future story lines, as well as being able to fit the theme of a barren, desert planet.

The Forgotten Tower

100 km north of the Equator there lies the husk of a building. Rising 450 meters high this lone tower sticks out against the flat sands surrounding it. Once a facility of some kind the tower has laid forgotten and abandoned for longer than anyone remembers. The tower hosts advanced security and nigh impenetrable walls that has kept it’s secrets and treasures safe and secured over the centuries. Largely unexplored inside it has been used as a waypoint for travelers to rest in it’s shade and a guidepost for those that are lost in the sands.

Taung Town:

Taung town is a major settlement named after the ancient Taung race. The Beskad weapons are based upon Taung design and their prevalence in Mando culture makes the name apt for a Mandalorian connection.

Taung town has its own spaceport and is home to several shops including Ricmore’s Regal Repository (seen in another entry). It is home to a cantina and a well furnished luxury hotel equipped with a casino and state of the art sound proofing and anti slicing systems for privacy.

A local bounty office provides targets and payments to interested hunters while a criminal underground offers lucrative but dangerous illegal missions to members of Clan Vizsla.

The Ruins of Fitch

Half buried in the sand are the ruins of an ancient settlement. Carvings on the walls suggest that they were once a cult of force users that worshiped the Zsoldos systems sun, Abercrombie. Many inscriptions lead to the leader being named Fitch and the settlement seems to share the name.
