Competition: Apex Predator

Finished
Apex Predator

With Korus being a desert planet, we're going to see lots of different kinds of animals and plants that would be able to dwell on a desert planet. Luckily for us, we have a TON of references to use in the Star Wars Universe.

Instructions:

Provide one kind of apex predator animal and an explanation of how that animal,

A) is surviving on such an inhospitable world, (what its eating, where it sleeps)

B) got there, if not "naturally",

Grading:

Winning submissions will be chosen based on awesomeness, coolness, ability to adhere to the prompt and an in depth completion of the prompt.

Krykna

These desert and cave dwelling spiders were initially brought to Korus for sport and to test combat prowess in combat arenas. However, a breeding pair managed to escape their captors and fled to an intertwining web of caverns so deep that they were never found. Over time, they would breed and feast on Dokma or any weary traveller who ventured too close to the mouth of their caves. So many in number, the caves are all but impenetrable and are now the source of Death Watch legends.

A Sarlacc

The Sarlacc was born on Korus as spores taking thousands of years to grow to it's current size. While one is known to exist there can likely be others.
