Competition: Arcona Army Corps: Insignia

Insignia are the defining image of an organization, able to be recognized from afar to display the presence of someone or something to all that can see it.

The Arcona Army Corps (AAC) is no different. As the arm of the AAF responsible for ground combat, the Army Corps is the overarching branch responsible for all of the soldiers and "boots on the ground" of both the Arcona Expeditionary Force (AEF) and the Dajorra Defense Force (DDF), as well as having nominal control of their own internal starfighters, airspeeders, and transport craft. Thus while it works with both the Navy and Starfighter Corps, and has a hand in both the AEF and DDF, it remains its own distinct administrative body within the greater Arconan military.

For this competition, you will create an image that embodies the AAC, which could be found on a flag within a headquarters building or as a patch on a soldier's uniform. Grading will be based on the following criteria:

• Quality (30%): This is a gauge of both apparent effort into the image, the image's sharpness/clarity, and of the ease which it could be applied to different fictional uses (flag vs patch vs advertisement, etc).
  
• Distinguishable (25%): Can one infer from the insignia, without it containing words, what it is meant to represent? If seen from afar, could someone tell whose logo it was separate from anyone else's?
  
• Applicable (25%): Does the insignia "fit" the unit it is trying to represent? Is any symbolism used appropriate to its role, unit type, or other facets of its fictional background?
• Complexity (10%): Is the insignia a "busy" image or is it simple? Is it appropriately busy/simple relative to the unit or body it is representing?
• Grader's Preference (10%): Speaks for itself. Also used for tie-breaking.

All entries must be submitted as either JPEG or PNG file types. Images containing inappropriate material will be disqualified; insignia comprised entirely or predominantly of text may also be disqualified.
