Insignia are the defining image of an organization, able to be recognized from afar to display the presence of someone or something to all that can see it.

The Arcona Navy Corps (ANC) is no different. As the arm of the AAF responsible for the large capital and support ships of the fleet, the Navy is the overarching branch responsible for force projection from planet to planet and system to system for both the Arcona Expeditionary Force (AEF) and the Dajorra Defense Force (DDF), as well as having overaching administrative control of the Starfighter Corps. The navy is the group you call when you need the really big guns, whether at home to protect Dajorra, or in some far-flung region of space to remind Arcona's enemies why the First Clan is the last one you want to mess with.

For this competition, you will create an image that embodies the ANC, which could be found on a flag within a headquarters building or as a patch on a soldier's uniform. Grading will be based on the following criteria:

• Quality (30%): This is a gauge of both apparent effort into the image, the image's sharpness/clarity, and of the ease which it could be applied to different fictional uses (flag vs patch vs advertisement, etc).
  
• Distinguishable (25%): Can one infer from the insignia, without it containing words, what it is meant to represent? If seen from afar, could someone tell whose logo it was separate from anyone else's?
  
• Applicable (25%): Does the insignia "fit" the unit it is trying to represent? Is any symbolism used appropriate to its role, unit type, or other facets of its fictional background?
• Complexity (10%): Is the insignia a "busy" image or is it simple? Is it appropriately busy/simple relative to the unit or body it is representing?
• Grader's Preference (10%): Speaks for itself. Also used for tie-breaking.

All entries must be submitted as either JPEG or PNG file types. Images containing inappropriate material will be disqualified; insignia comprised entirely or predominantly of text may also be disqualified.
