The Fiction

For some cultures, combat is literally a way of life. The Echani, Mandalorians, and many others place heavy importance on their martial traditions, celebrating them throughout their lives in various ways. From those who make a living on their combat prowess to those who learn who friends and enemies are by first exchanging blows, all are seen among the crowds of the Gauntlet, even going so far as to challenge one another and oftentimes making lifelong friends, competition, or on occasion, bitter rivalries.
