The Situation
The Dajorran Confederacy has made the decision that it would be a worthwhile endeavor to open channels with the Bothan Council. They have asked Clan Arcona, through CADRES, to manage the first diplomatic approach to the nearby Bothans. A mission has been developed and greenlit, and the diplomatic fleet is preparing to dispatch!
Options
This Fiction should be focused around the diplomatic mission to make the first official contact with the Bothan Council on behalf of CADRES and the Dajorran Confederacy. Please write a fiction based on one of the following prompts:
- Waylaid: Space travel is fraught with dangers and complications, even when you’re not having to travel through an area surrounded by black holes and unknown space beasts. On the way to the diplomatic meeting, something has delayed the fleet - a malfunction in the fleet’s hyperdrive systems, a brazen attack by ne’er-do-wells, or perhaps even one of the indescribable monsters that wander the Maw decided the fleet looks like a tasty snack - and it is a problem that it is now up to you to find a way to make it to the meeting on time.
- The Fine Art: Diplomacy is as much a game of guessing and hoping as it is of study and planning. Sometimes, even the best-laid plans go awry. The first meeting with the Bothan Council is not going as expected - whether it be from an unexpected demand on the part of a Bothan representative, an unintentional gaffe on the part of CADRES, or something beyond the control or plans of either side - and it is up to you to right the course of negotiations and make our first outreach a success!
