Competition: DIA Contracts February Fiction

Sitrep

Every new year sets the stage for new hopes, dreams, and goals. Write a short story that explores a time when your character experienced something that inspired or motivated them to set a goal for the new year or the future. This can be at any point in the character's timeline.

Bonus Challenge

• Can you tell this story in only 500 -600 words?
• Can the story take place in one location and one point in time?

Grading

• Entries must be a minimum of 500 words, with no word cap beyond the optional bonus challenge.
• Entries must be submitted in PDF or .doc/x format or using the submission text box.
• Entries will be graded on: Narrative and Syntax.
• Completing the “bonus challenge” variables can influence placement.
• Feedback on the story may be requested by any participants.
