Competition: Shrouding New Ground: Nancora

Intro

Nancora. Once a thriving tech-world for The Collective, it is now ravaged by uncontrollable electrical storms. The atmosphere processors, that once breathed life into a whole barren world, misfire endlessly choking the planet in smog and clouds. Wounds of orbital bombardment still mar the many planetary factories and cities that dot the surface, covered now by vast colonies of storm crystals formed by lightning and blowing sand.

Amid the wreckage of the Collective's jewel, technology long abandoned waits to be claimed. Combat droid slaughterbots, AI engrams with murderous intent, crystalline amalgams of circuits and energy, long dead flesh raised anew through techno-necromantic rituals. Nancora is a hellscape, but it is a profitable one for all the brave souls who dare.

The Herald of the Brotherhood demands expansion. Brotherhood space is too small, too cramped, too prone to infighting. The Shroud needs space to breathe and her finger points at the enemy's old home. Led by the Matron's first officer Vigo Zakirov, like a plague of locusts the Shroud Syndicate descended on Nancora, intent on pillaging what remains. As lighting tears through the skies, the war for fortune begins…

Welcome back to Nancora.

Ten years after the battle between the Collective and the Brotherhood ravaged the planet, the Shroud Syndicate is returning to pick the planet's bones and strip it clean. Technologies old and forgotten wait for anyone daring enough to search. Treasure seekers, freelancers, scavengers, hunters, pirates, smugglers… all of them are here for a payday.

This is a Herald-hosted event. The majority of the competitions will be graphics-related, but we have prepared competitions from every activity pillar for those who want to participate.

The event offers double clusters wherever applicable.

The event will last for 6 weeks. It is split into three phases:

• Event long competitions last for the full length
• Phase 1 competitions run March 14th until April 5th
• Phase 2 competitions run April 5th until April 27th

Scoring and Placements

Overall scoring will be done through points. The top scoring member will have an opportunity to win one custom Weapon, Warbanner, Robe or Accessory of their choice (subject to Herald approval). The score will be calculated based on top placements overall in each competition. Ties will be broken by the number of competitions entered, broken further by the number of higher placements.
