The Deets:

For some time now, a storm has been brewing under the surface of Kaal. The little people, your workers, your spacecraft repair crews, your barbacks– the people who get their hands in the dirt and grime, have begun to realize something.

In the eyes of Kaltani, they are nothing but pawns. Worse than that, they are replaceable. Their families, their livelihoods, their hopes and dreams and aspirations mean nothing.

And when a group of people begin to feel disenfranchised, begin to feel oppressed, they resist. In the eyes of the common folk and the working class, it seems that House Hoth is doing nothing for them. While they did help with the rhakghoul outbreak, they are doing nothing to stand up to the Vatali Empire and everything they stand for. They didn’t want this war, they didn’t want to send their children off to fight for the empire.

Nildea stands in front of you, rubbing her face. She’s a short Sephi female with hair the color of copper but the feeling of a person exhausted deep into her bones. She looks out of the window in her office, crossing her arms as she looks out over the city of Kaal.

“These “resistance” leaders are puppeting the worker’s class to attack Vatali soldiers and our people alike… We must get them on our side if we ever hope to see a free Kaal.” She moves back to her desk, picking up a glass of wine. “I need you to get with one of the leaders. I need to to make them understand that we want the same things.”

Instructions:

Using your Hoth character, write a fiction of at least 500 words about how you meet with one of the resistance leaders. There are five, and the details of this leader are all up to you. From their race to their personality to their true motives-- if they lie outside of helping the working class rebel from the Empire --are all yours to create. The top five fictions (or all of the fictions, if less than five people submit) will be used for storyline hooks and may be featured in the fiction posted between events.

Rules:

  • Submissions must be at least 500 words. There are no max word caps.
  • Acceptable submission file types are: png, doc, docx, textbox entry
  • Your character must be sheeted, though you do not have to attach a snapshot.
  • Top placement fictions will be featured in the house storyline.
  • This is unfortunately not a co-op fiction.
  • All submissions will be graded using the Voice Grading Rubric. Ties will be broken by grader preference.
