Competition: The Professor Is In: Micro Fiction

Finished
The Professor Is In: Micro Fiction

War is fast approaching, and House Hoth has a new aedile. Let's do something fun and get to know the mousy Zeltron scholar in these final days!

Objective
Before coming to Clan Odan-Urr, Dr. Corinna Magarin was a research director and lecturer at the Aurora Collegium. She spent her time learning things and making sure students learned things. Write a micro fiction inspired by the word "learning." Maybe you'll tell a story about your character learning something. Perhaps you'll describe your character's relationship to education. Or you could write something else!

All fictions must be 500 words or LESS.

Rules

  • Participants must submit entries in .pdf, .doc, or .docx format, or use the submission text field (markdown capable).
  • Entries must be a maximum of 500 words. Any entries that are over 500 words will be ineligible for placement.
  • There is no minimum word requirement.
  • Your story must be centered on one of your dossier-linked characters, whether it's your primary character, alternate character, or other slotted NPC. Additional characters not linked on your dossier are allowed and encouraged.
  • Due to the length of fictions, Clusters of Ice will not be awarded.

Grading Method
Entries will be graded according to the official fiction rubric.

Since taking over Hoth again, he made a point to go visit the Planetary Governor in the capital of Is Brea, to help gain support for the House and Clan in the future.

While he was there, he met a group of children who were on a field trip. They asked him so many questions and wanted to see many Jedi Magic tricks, which the Grey Jedi denounced to their dismay, but still picked a few objects and a rowdy child up to their amusement.

He would speak to them for a while, and before they left, a young girl asked him meekly. What do I need to learn to become a Jedi like you?

The Quaester took a moment to respond to the question, simple as it was, which took him by surprise. He remembered his training long into the night, but then he found the answer within the Force. “It wasn’t the hour and subject I studied for hours; in fact, I wasn’t that much different from our friend here picking the rowdy boy up again, it was trusting in the Force and letting it and the universe give me small lessons each day to slowly grow myself and my connection with the Force. So my young lady, just take each day as it comes and do your very best to learn something new each day, and you will be the best you can be.
