That's right! As the dramatic, rowdy, ever-disagreeing Clan we are, Arcona gets to have its very own debating competition!
Be warned! This competition is not for everyone! Do you have what it takes to keenly combine a knowledge of Star Wars, verbal skills and critical thinking into a seamless whole? If so, by all means, read on:
(Yeah, that was the sales pitch).
Depending on the amount of participants, we'll have three or four rounds. In each round the Judges (that is, Strat and me) will provide you with a single topic, and assign you as 'for' or 'against'. After that, you both have two days to email your opponent and the Judges with your initial arguments. Then, you have another two to respond to your opponent's arguments. Then, we Judges get to work and judge the thing in a day. :P
The winner of each round advances to the next, while the loser drops out (with the exception of the semi-finals, where the losers continue to debate for third place).
Remember that this debate, unless otherwise said, is done from an in-character perspective. That is...pretend you are a Krath Scholar writing to make your point to a group of VIP's. However, remember that you are writing in essay form...so no Timeros said 'Strat sucks the big one!' and Strat says 'I wish'.. This is to be written strictly from an essayist perspective.
