Competition: The Big Twist

Specifics

Competitors will have to send me the next post in the run-on started by me on the message board called "The Turn of a Tide". In that post, they will have to invent a big and shocking twist for the story, which must agree with previous occurances and be as powerful as possible. Whoever manages to do so, his post will be posted and he wins a medal. The story will continue on from there.
