Primary reason

The Jedi Hunter hit the floor with a loud thud, the noise reverberating through the vast space of the training grounds. He could feel the raw skin on his cheek begin to bruise, the taste of blood strong in his mouth. Anduriel attempted to get up, but he could feel the strength in his legs suddenly drain from him and he crashed to the ground, face banging the hard, metallic floor.

“Pathetic.”

The cold voice of Anduriel’s Master was uncomfortable for the Journeyman. It had been ever since he had met the warrior when he was an Acolyte. Despite the monotone that Kalon’s voice was notable for, he could detect traces of disappointment in the Mandalorian’s words.

"Out on the battlefield I witnessed you fight with something resembling skill," grumbled the Entar, standing several metres from the fallen Journeymen. "Now get up. Come at me again!"

With a half-pained grunt, Anduriel finally found his balance and rose to his feet. He could feel the wretched throbbing of every blow that Kalon had dealt him over the past half-hour. They were dressed similarly, the protective suits worn under their beskar'gaam ideal for training sessions. Trying to ignore the wound his Master had dealt him, the Jedi Hunter charged at the Templar, aiming a trembling fist towards the center of his chest. The Mandalorian blocked the first with an arm swipe and instantly advanced, elbowing Anduriel in the face.

The Journeyman could hear the click of his nose breaking, along with the inevitable sharp pain some seconds later. His eye’s began to water and he staggered back, hand clutching his bloodied face and falling to one knee. In front of him, he could hear his Master sigh.

“You have remembered nothing that I taught you. You have failed the test.” As the Mandalorian spoke, his face remained passive, his crimson eyes looking down at his Student with disgust.

His words hit Anduriel like a wave against the cliff. Surely the Templar could not be telling the truth?

He had sacrificed months and hundreds of hours locked in endless study. He had suffered through the commonplace beatings and humiliation that his Master had set upon him, only to be rejected in the end. It was too late now. He could not go back to Ord Mantell; he had no life there. It was either here or nowhere.

The thoughts rushing through his head made an anger unknown to the Journeymen spread through his body, the pain in his limbs seeming to disappear. Suddenly, Anduriel was unaware of the red haze in his vision or the notable sounds of his increasing heart beat. All he wanted now was revenge on the man that had put him through the worst experiences of his life for nothing.

With impressive speed, the Jedi Hunter pushed himself up once again. He sprinted forward, lunging at the Templar with a fist outstretched, it connecting squarely with his jaw.

The force of the attack pushed the Mandalorian back a step. Any pain he could feel on his knuckles was instantly forgotten about as Anduriel switched hand and came up with a perfect uppercut, knocking Kalon clean off of his feet.

Going with the strike, his Master turned and used his legs to swipe the Journeyman to the ground, simultaneously pushing himself up and back onto his feet. Kalon instantly descended upon the recovering Mantellian, placing a heavy boot on his chest before he could get up, pinning him to the ground.

As Anduriel recovered from his blood rage, the memory of what he had just done returned to him. Looking up, he could see his Master standing over him, blood running from his mouth, indicating that he had accidentally bit his lip when the fist had connected with his face. For a second, fear began to course through the Journeyman. Was this going to be how he died?

The tension was suddenly lifted when Kalon’s harsh expression dropped, replaced by a slowly-widening grin. Eventually, he tilted his head back and let out a long, hard chuckle. The feature was uncharacteristic of the Templar and for a second Anduriel was unsure what he was doing.

“Well done. You have passed the test, just like I always knew you would,” said the Mandalorian, removing the boot from his Student’s chest and offering Anduriel his arm. “The energy is there, and we’ve just found out how to unleash it.”

“Master.” Replied the Jedi Hunter in awed appreciation, unsure what words could possibly compensate for the moment. He took the hand in the same fashion as a warrior clasp. Once he had been hauled to his feet, Kalon gestured towards the doorway.”

“Now come along, ner’vod. The Consul wishes to speak with you.”

………………………………

I am honoured to be recommending Anduriel for his elevation to the rank of Dark Jedi Knight. He has been an active and dedicated part of Clan Arcona and House Galeres ever since joining us. Today he finally reaches the end rank of the Journeymen halls.

Since I have known Anduriel he has been a constantly active member of the House. Setting a prime example of what a Journeyman should be inside of the Brotherhood. Giving everything a go and even when sometimes stumbling he picks himself back up and goes at it again. His constant drive has inspired thes around him to continue to do the same. As well as his growth since joining the club, turning into the fine member that he is today. As well as this he has completed a wiki page with the approval of the wiki staff, this was in the form of Kazmir. Progressing his character fiction.

I am proud to see Anduriel reach the rank of Knighthood. Congratulations on your elevation and keep up the hard work. I look forward to seeing what you do in the future.

Additional reasons

The time has come for Anduriel to be elevated to the coveted rank of Dark Jedi Knight. Since rejoining Clan Arcona he has been an excellent example for any Journeyman to follow.

First of all, he has been awarded not one but two merit medals, these being a pair of Dark Crosses. Additionally he obtained two crescents from competitions, one being a Quartz Star, the other being a Sapphire Star.

In terms of activity Anduriel has been impressive, taking part in no less than ten competitions, these being Dark Crusade Prologue: Shadow Academy Corruption, Imperfect Reflections, Deviants in Distress, Caption Time! New Years Caption Contest #1, Caption Time! New Years Caption Contest #2, Dozen of Games II: Round 4 - Curve-Ball, Dozen of Games II: Round 5 - Sniper, DB History, or update!, Reflex & Accuracy Test and Dark Forge Continuous Run On. He has also run two competitions of his own, Clan Science Expo and Caption the Consul, showing he is willing not to just take part but to help other members towards their own promotions.

Anduriel has also been active within the Shadow Academy, passing both leadership courses,as well as obtaining a Dark Maven in Combat. This impressive academic activity has earned him Rank IV within the Shadow Academy Society.

Writing and character development are another area in which Andy has excelled, writing 3,000 words of fiction as well as completing his character’s Wiki article to a standard high enough to be deemed quality.

Finally, he also assisted the clan summit, creating the original design for the new Arcona Summit Task Tracker, a new system that we will be using to track projects and Summit tasks.

Congratulations, Andy. Enjoy your new saber.

Andy, little Andy. Who could ask for such a devoted, kind and kick-ass hilarious student to teach and introduce to Clan Arcona and the Dark Brotherhood? Thankfully, I did and the resulting rollercoaster ride has been a memorable experience. Even as I sit here, on a bus with phone in hand, I think of how much of an asset Anduriel is to this club and its populace. I'm immensely proud that he has reached DJK.
