Primary reason

Six and a half years is a long time to spend in the same rank, nevertheless that is how long it has been since Shirai was promoted. He has been with us in Naga Sadow for nearly two years now, prior to coming here he was in Plagueis and while there he participated in numerous competitions and Brotherhood wide events throughout the years, placing in some of them as well.

Since joining us his activity hasn’t let up, he participated in a third of the events in last years Dark Crusade, took part in the clan wide event Children of Revolution, the Summer Invasion with Scholae Palatinae and Plagueis, the Crusade Prologue event to take the SSD Avenger II and most recently the Clan Artisans in January and Fading Lights where the team he was on managed to write by far the longest story of all teams participating, with Shirai writing five posts despite the fact that he was relegated to using his phone at the time due to computer trouble.

He has also served nearly six months as Aedile of Shar Dakhan, and most recently he stepped up and took over as Quaestor when Mirado resigned. In both cases he has been quick to offer people help and encouragement when they needed it and he has been leading by example as shown by his activity above.

It is with great pleasure that I can promote him to Sith Battlemaster. Congratulations Shirai!

Additional reasons

As Aedile he's been an inspiration with continued activity, reports, and being generally helpful. He's maintained a strong presence within the clan and been a huge player in the last few RO's that we've done. Especially in this past one for the Dark Crusade. And now he's taken up the mantel of acting Quaestor. Shirai has proven himself to be an incredibly dedicated asset to the clan and his house. He is more than deserving of this promotion and I believe it is past due.

Warrior Shirai Ryu Dupar has been in CNS for almost two years now and he has show that his dedication to this clan and his motivation to help have no limit. He came to us in June of 2012 as a Krath Priest and since then has excelled at every aspect of this club and has not failed to let his leadership down. Since joining CNS Shirai as earn 17 CFs, 25 CIs, two Dark Cross, a Silver Nova, Anteian Cross, and Crescent with Amethyst Star. He served as Aedile of Shar Dakhan for five successful months until he stepped up and took on the duties of Quaestor after the previous one departed. This is something not a lot do and Shirai earn my praise for it as I know he did from others. He has more than fulfilled his time requirement since last being promoted and has shown the leadership skills and work ethic deserving of an elevation.

Therefore it is my judgement in the name of the Dark Side that I, Jeric Cyrin, Battlelord of the Sith, Quaestor of Marka Ragnos Emeritus and Leader of Battleteam Shadow’s Bane do herby recommend Shirai Ryu Dupar be elevated to the rank of Sith Battlemaster. Congratulations!

I can't say how proud I am to see my Apprentice get what he deserves. Shirai suffered from the unfortunate fact that a couple of activities before Clan Naga Sadow were lost. (Which should tell people to not wait too long with rewarding people; to reward them when they transfer out of a unit, so activities aren't lost - and people need to track their own activities!)

Through eight years he hasn't stopped being active. Each of the eight years show activities. He has served as an Aedile, two times as a Battle Team Leader, has earned a couple of Clusters, Novae, took part in the Crusade, Fading Light, and so forth. I am happy to have him in Clan Naga Sadow. I am happy to have him as my Apprentice.

Congratulations Sith Battlemaster Shirai!

Since his last elevation on 11/19/07 Shirai has:

Served as a BTL twice, served as an Aedile, and is currently the acting QUA of HSD. He has earned 2 CrE, 3 CrT, and 1 CrA, earned 37 Clusters of Fire, earned 18 Clusters of Ice, earned 2 Silver Novae, earned 2 Dark Crosses, earned 1 Anteian Cross, earned one Seal of Remembrance, One Seal of Unity, and 3 Seals of Decimation. As well, he's served in the Crusade quite handily although the Seals (or medallions) have not come out yet for that series of events. Shirai serves as an example of what a motivated leader is all about. I had the pleasure of working with him directly in the recent Clan-wide RO event (that we won), as well as in Fading Light where our team posted the most of any of the DB teams. His motivation was outstanding. Shirai has waited quite a long time to be promoted, and in my opinion has earned Equite Two handily.

I've known Shirai for nearly two years now - from when he first transferred to Naga Sadow in the middle of 2012. He soon proved to be a great member to have around, as he was very active in competitions. But it was not only that that I liked about Shirai - he was always a great leader. His dossier will show that Shirai has led units before, but witnessing that in action is something else. Right after transferring to CNS he joined into our Runon events and immediately began helping newbies and other members craft interesting stories while helping them stay interested.

When I was Consul, Shirai was the kind of member I was glad to have. He was active himself, and he encouraged others to do the same, while helping to maintain an energetic and positive atmosphere.

More recently, Shirai became Aedile of House Shar Dakhan. In this role he continued to be active. A great example of Shirai's leadership and activity took place in the recent Clan Artisans event, where his team not only won the Runon competition, but also came out of it with a great piece of lore - the Four Horsemen of Sadow. Concepts like this are the sort of thing that make people think "wow, this is a cool place to be" and I know Shirai is one of the guys implementing those concepts.

Then, just 24 hours ago, I became Shirai's Aedile as he moved up to Quaestor. He immediately has shown that he means to take this position seriously. As acting Quaestor he was in constant communication with the House. SInce finding out I would be his second in command, we've had a great bit of communication back and forth and he has bombarded me with ideas and plans, in a good way. This is a third example of how Shirai's energy, drive, and creativity make him a great guy to have around.

Shirai is dedicated to his Clan. He is always on IRC and participating in emails. He leads from the front, showing strong participation in Runons and other events. He is creative and helps shape important ideas and programs for Naga Sadow in our Summit chats.

Thus, I find Shirai Ryu Dupar worthy of ascension to the rank of Sith Battlemaster! Congratulations, Shirai!

Medals, leadership, dedication, Shirai has all of them and then more. For nearly eight years now -- I will say that I again, to allow it to sink in -- for nearly eight years now, not in fast-forwarded Star Wars time, not in some Einsteinian relativistic space anomaly, but eight real, actual, genuine years of his real life Shirai has remained a constant presence, whether it has been in Clan Naga Sadow or before that Clan Plagueis. With just one brief look at his history, one sees awards in every single year from 2008 to the present. 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014... for eight years, Shirai has remained a member, taken part, contributed, and at present, even given back, with him as of writing the Aedile and acting Quaestor of House Shar Dakhan. That is a monumental commitment, and something worthy of praise in itself.

If I think back to where I was in life eight years ago, and where any of my friends were, it is bewildering when one realises how long Shirai has remained an active contributor to this place we all call home without him asking anything in return. To take just one shining example, most recently he has taken part in the Fading Light epilogue of the Dark Crusade, in which his Run-On team clocked up the most posts and longest story of all the teams -- and this he helped achieve after a computer failure that left him with only a mobile phone to work on. That is dedication for you right there.

I could go on, but it would be a disservice to Shirai, when the simple fact is how much he has clearly already done -- and done again -- to warrant an elevation to the next rank, and for that I warmly extend my heartfelt congratulations to him and hope his long years of commitment continue for many more.
