Primary reason

Sadly, I'm always pretty bad at getting these recommendations out on time, and all too often they end up being seen as parting gifts. This award is not a parting gift. This is something that Armags earned time and time again in his time as Aedile of House Dinaari. Something that I always try to preach whenever someone asked me about leadership in the Brotherhood is to know your own limitations. Know your skill set, and know what you can and can't handle. Armags is an extremely busy man, and when Rax resigned from Quaestor, I asked Armags if he wanted to take over as Quaestor. Armags said he'd love to, but he didn't have the time to devote to the position. He turned down advancement in the DB, in his "career" for the good of the Clan.

Anyone who knows Armags knows that he's exactly that type of person. An unashamed gamer who had a penchant for supporting the poorer of the console gaming systems, he none the less had been working hard to become acquainted with the fictional side of the DB, because he knew how important it had become to the club. Armags worked outside of his comfort zone, while maintaining an excellend standard of activity. He was involved in the running of 15 competitions, and participated in twice that number. He was extremely active in gaming, earning over 600 gaming Clusters since his promotion, and also chalked up some crescents and pendants of blood along the way.

Unfortunately Armags recently had to resign his place as Aedile, and while I will miss having his skills and presence on Taldryan's summit, more than anything I will miss his honesty and integrity. Armags has always known what it meant to be a member of Taldryan, and Taldryan waits in great anticipation for his return.

In recognition of all his efforts for Taldryan, I hereby award Armags C'Hiesa a Steel Cross. Thank you Armags.

Additional reasons

When Armags decided to stay as AED and not take the position of Quaestor; it allowed me to apply and be selected for this role. He supported my role; and helped mentor me to become a better QUA. It is this that the club needs the most; those who are willing to help others become better in their leadership position; and not take the limelight themselves. I think this speaks greatly to Armags' character. Not the fictional one; but the one that defines our every day actions. It is this one trait that if all members in the club had; we would be much better for it.

Armags was a fantastic Aedile for Dinaari, and I am sorry to see him go. He continued on as the Aedile because he knew he was the best fit for it - and Aedile being the best fit for him. Since promotion following the GJW in February, Armags has released six Aedile reports, participated in 30 competitions, earned two Pendants of Blood, 4 competition crescents, 3 Clusters of Ice (Armags? Writing? Odd), earned 56 Clusters of Fire and 563 Clusters of Ice. As a leader, he's run or helped to run 15 competitions, and from a summitting perspective, Armags always offers a unique perspective - his classic hardcore gamer attitude is always welcome and frankly, something that is needed, and I for one am glad he had and continues to have that perspective. Armags, you will always be welcome back to the Taldryan summit when the time is right - don't forget that. Thank you for what you've done!
