Primary reason

One of the greatest parts of leadership in the Dark Jedi Brotherhood is the ability to recommend deserving members for awards and elevation to the next rank. And no elevation is more important to a DJB member than their promotion into the ranks of the Equites. Only those who show extraordinary skill in competition, a strong ability to lead, and a fierce desire to make this club a better place for its members are even considered for promotion into the Equites. Jai'de Serpens is one of those members. Even a cursory glance at her dossier and activities over the past seven months shows that she is ready to join the ranks of the Equites. Her absolute dominance in clan competitions and her innate ability to lead and motivate the members under her charge show that she has what it takes to make the next step in her DJB career.

Since her elevation to Knighthood seven months ago, Jai'de has been one of Clan Plagueis fiercest competitors. Her numbers during the Plagueis: Restoration events speak for themselves: During Round 1: Broken, Jai'de took first place in the Fiction and Gaming events, and third place in the Trivia Event. As a result, she took the overall top individual competitor spot, winning yet another crescent and earning a major highlight in the Clan fiction update. Not satisfied with winning just one round, she turned around and did the exact same thing during Round 2: Building. She once again took a top spot in the Gaming event, and with her top five finish in gaming she managed to pull off another individual event win, taking yet another crescent and another highlight in the Clan fiction! On top of the crescents earned for both of these events, she put up staggering numbers of Clusters, garnering over 1800 Clusters of Fire across 32 separate gaming submissions, and 15 Clusters of ice split over three fiction submissions. To put that into other terms, she wrote over 7500 words of fiction across only three fiction submissions. Absolutely amazing!

While her star shines as a competitor, her abilities as a leader are equally impressive. Jai'de has served in a leadership position at every level possible within the clan. She served as the Battle Team Leader for the Disciples of Dreypa for over two months, spurring activity within her battle team and showing unrelenting dedication to the members under her charge. Each week, Jai'de drafted an individual email to each member of her battle team, outlining each member's individual promotion requirements. These were not just simple cut-and-pastes from Promotheus, these were individually tailored emails that focused on what the member needed to do to get promoted, and guided those members to activities they were most likely to actually do. Jai'de knew her members, and knew them well. Her efforts led to multiple members gaining various Journeymen ranks, with some attaining the coveted lightsaber of the Knights! When the Apostles of Syn Battleteam leader was promoted to Aedile, Jai'de stepped in and took on the mantle of battle team leader while simultaneously holding down the Disciples of Dreypa. Allow me to say that again: Jai'de led two battle teams simultaneously for the better part of a month while the Clan Summit looked for a suitable replacement for the vacant BTL job. Her dedication to this club and its members knows absolutely no bounds!

As a result of her demonstrated ability to lead and her intense desire to guide the newest members of the DJB through the novice and journeyman ranks, Jai'de was selected to serve as the Rollmaster for Clan Plagueis. Assuming the role just prior to the start of the third round of Restoration, Jai'de showed her ability to not only guide but to also provide for the Clan's members. As a Clan summit member, she planned, co-organized, and graded the final round of Restoration, focusing on the Fiction, Graphics, and Battleplan events. As Rollmaster, she immediately reached out to newly assigned members of Plagueis, providing a welcoming email to each new member that highlighted what their first steps in the Club should be. She asked them what they were interested in, and attempted to link them up with like-minded older members of the Clan. Jai'de published monthly Rollmaster Reports, each highlighting the activities of the newer members, and providing an opportunity for the Battle Team Leaders to get practice in providing input to reports.

In short, there is absolutely nothing that Jai'de Serpens cannot do. She is a master of all trades, and she exemplifies the very best that the Dark Jedi Brotherhood has to offer. While real life has taken up much of her precious time, she still manages to stay active and engaged within the Clan. I personally count Jai'de as one of my real friends within this Club, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to show the rest of the Brotherhood what an awesome person and leader that she is.

In view of Jai'de's demonstrated potential for increased responsibility, I strongly recommend her for promotion to the grade of Equite 1. Congratulations, Jai'de!

Additional reasons

We often talk in the Dark Brotherhood about how word-of-mouth recruitment is our greatest tool. I think Jai'de exemplifies this to the maximum. I first met Jai'de playing SW:TOR, and after nearly a year of nagging she finally joined up into Plagueis. At first it was just to have some shiny profile to sit the clusters she was earning by raiding regularly with us, but it soon turned into more than that. As Jai'de found out what we were all about, she went in a little deeper. Eventually she found herself as a battleteam leader in Plagueis: a position that we largely use for the acclamation, training, and upbringing of new journeymen into Plagueis and the Dark Brotherhood. This was a job that was, literally, second nature to her as it was very similar to her 9 to 5 job. Jai'de was amazing at it, getting journeymen who had been inactive for months to return and become active. It didn't take long for her to move up to rollmaster where she oversaw this for the whole clan. As rollmaster she was constantly engaging, challenging, and helping journeymen move along their path in the Brotherhood.

On top of her stints in leadership in Plagueis, she was active herself. Earning hundreds of clusters of earth, pendants of blood, participating in competitions, and helping to run competitions (notably the Restoration event) on top of her leadership duties are all examples of Jai'des progression from knight to the equite levels. I'm more than ecstatic to see someone who I not only recruited into the Dark Brotherhood make it to the equite levels, but who was also my apprentice, and most importantly someone I consider a great friend. Congratulations, Jai'de!

What’s left to say about Jai’de that hasn’t been said time and time again in prior recommendations? She’s an amazing member, pure and simple. She took on both battle team leader jobs, effectively acting as Clan Rollmaster without any of the support of having BTL subordinates even before she eventually took the Rollmaster job. She really stepped up during the final phase of our Restoration event this summer, the most ambitious of them all. Her assistance in grading, organizing, and penning fiction updates for that competition were a godsend and really helped keep everything on track. And, on top of that, her time as Rollmaster was stellar. The email turn around for new members, the amount of engagement with them she provided, every aspect of her work in the position was absolutely fantastic. I’m happy to join the chorus of voices here calling for her advancement into the ranks of the Equites!
