Primary reason

It is always a great moment to recognize a member’s achievements - their blood, sweat, and tears - when they attain Knighthood. It is an even greater moment when that member has demonstrated they are capable of functioning at a higher level within the club and break into the ranks of the Equites. Today, I am honored to elevate Rins’zler Sang-Kalinor to the rank of Equite I in the Dark Brotherhood.

Since his last elevation, Rins’zler has participated in 46 competitions, submitted 9 PvP Matches, logged 29 PvE Activities, penned 10 Fiction Activities (26266 words!), posted in a run-on twice (3097 words!), passed 13 Shadow Academy courses, earned 1 Dark Side Degree, and done additional work on behalf of the Headmaster - which HM Farrin will address today. In that same time, he has collected 2 Anteian Crosses (excellent activity at the House and Clan level), 18 Crescents (5 Cr-R, 2 Cr-A, 5 Cr-S, 3 Cr-E, 2 Cr-T, 1 Cr-Q), 6 Pendants of Blood, 41 Clusters of Fire, 54 Clusters of Ice, and 125 Clusters of Earth.

What most impresses me about Rins, though, is his commitment to expand the world around him. While not every idea can come to fruition, he continues to brainstorm new, unique ways to develop his Battle Team, House, and Clan at every turn. He is intent on bettering the world around him. Every day. And that is why I am honored to nominate him for elevation into the Equite ranks.

Additional reasons

To reach the first of the Equite ranks is to mark a major milestone in one’s journey within the Dark Brotherhood. The path from Apprentice to Knight is more or less an easy one, inasmuch as you can clearly measure progress and know precisely where you stand. After that, the journey into the Equite ranks can be seen as a measure of your determination to better yourself and your peers around you. And in this, Rins’zler does not disappoint.

From the first time we met, I could see the passion that Rins’zler held for his House, Clan, and indeed, the Brotherhood as a whole. As Braecen noted above, he is eager to participate in as many Fiction activities as he can, averaging over 3 thousand words a month from February to September! Speaking as a writer myself, that is no mean feat! Building up on that, he is also quick to lend his knowledge and aide to his Clan, proposing various ways to flesh out and expand the background and history of both his Battleteam and the Clan entire, in ideas, in wiki work, and in fiction competitions. While not every idea may stick, his enthusiasm and passion for helping his fellow members sets an example for everyone to aspire to.

It has been a joy to watch Rins’zler as he participates in activities and witness his many triumphs in his short time back in Arcona, and it is with great pleasure that I add my voice to the recommendation that Rins'zler Sang-Kalinor be advanced to the rank of Equite 1.

Congratulations, Rins. It is well deserved.

Rins’zler has proven himself to be an extremely capable and even vital member of the Shadow Academy Staff. In his role as Magistrate, he’s worked hard to update many of our most outdated courses, including the Combat Tactics courses - and he’s completed a ranged weapons course that will prove to be a useful addition to our course list. He has also assisted in the editing of numerous courses that we’ve released or have been prepping for release, including the Flight Studies Department (Capital Ships, Starships, and Freighters/Transports). I am proud to have him on my staff and I’m even more proud to join in the other recommendations for his elevation to EQ1. Congrats, Rins!
